A wailing daughter asked the occupying army abt why did they kill her civilian innocent father. The fascists only had evil laughter for an answer.

The Hindutva fascism in India, and specially in the occupied Kashmir is thriving on the "silence" of the world. #KashmiriLivesMatter
As much as I hate to say it but no one from the outside world, incl. claimants of the free world or from the Muslim world, is going to come to the liberation of these innocent people.

Doesn't look like an Arab, an Afghan, a Turk or a Pakistani will rise
anytime soon to fulfill his duty to help his brothers and sisters in humanity and in faith. Kashmiris have led the cause themselves for the last 7 decades, and will have to continue to stand up for themselves.
It is a shame for us that we are reduced to express only solidarity via shallow statements and token protests.

Exactly 101 years ago in Nov 1920, the British govt issued a statement in Pashto in the then NWFP to explain the events that were taking place in Iraq at that time. They were trying to counter any anti-colonial campaign that might have resulted because of how they acted in Iraq.
In the statement itself, they mention that Naqib (Talib al-Naqib), who was exiled in Bombay, is being made minister in Iraq along with other 17-18 natives to form a temporary govt unless an agreement on permanent setup is achieved. They pleaded the case for Naqib by mentioning
that he is the descendant and rightful custodian of the shrine of Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jillani, a sufi saint venerated by the people of NWFP & in Afghanistan. A reference to his brother, Sheikh Affendi, known and respected in Pashtuns areas at the time, is also made therein.

Rare & heart-warming!

Dr. Abdul Ghani returned from Britain to Punjab bringing with him a white lady, not his wife but his adopted mother.

Dr. Ghani reminded the elderly lady of her passed away son. She would wait in the street to see Ghani leave or return to his residence
1/2 ImageImage
A glimpse of him consoled the grieving mother. When Dr. Ghani came to know about this, he told her that he would visit her often and that she could accompany him to Punjab as well when he would return home. And that's exactly what happened. He brought her to his hometown.

Dr. Ghani also took her to Kabul with him where he served Afghanistan for decades. The lady died there and is also buried there in Kabul.

A kind man and great educationist. May Allah (SWT) bless Dr. Ghani's soul.

This is widely believed among Pashtuns that 'Damman' (musical entertainers and dancers) have always been non-Pashtuns who came from other places into Pashtun society, and adopted the local language and culture.

However, Pashtun culture and literature is rich in poetry, songs,
music and dances but Pashtuns in general have a dislike for those who adopt entertainment (singing, music, dancing, acting*) as a profession.
Things have changed today. Just a bit. There are many Pashtuns in the entertainment industry even from conservative & religious families.
I say a bit because these people face tough resistance and backlash from their families and society. Some have been excommunicated for stepping into the entertainment industry.
