Soon DAOs will be plug & play.

This might be humanity’s biggest shift yet.

Here’s why it changes everything 👇
1/ Easily programmable communities

Community building used to be labor intensive and manual.

High cost, friction, resources, time spent.

Soon anyone anywhere will be able to spin one up overnight.

Just clone the code.
2/ Directly aligned financial incentives

It was near impossible to have community and aligned financial incentives in the same sentence.

There is no stronger motivating force on the planet than financial incentives.

Now it will be at the very core of community.
3/ The crowd as the new power center

The people were meant to rule the world.

But without strong ways to organize, the institutions have consumed all power.

Now the people can organize 10X more efficiently and effectively,

Unlocking their collective potential.
4/ Compounding learnings on how to organize

Every new successful community, movement, token, and DAO teaches the world how to organize better.

The next project will incorporate those learnings and do something even better.

This is perhaps what I’m most excited about.
5/ Transparency in power

Power accumulation used to be illusory and confusing.

Hidden ownership was the norm.

Now there’s a public ledger of ownership.

Nothing is behind closed doors.
6/ Trusted voting

Distrust of voting is a recurring theme around the world.

Even in the most sophisticated of countries.

Solving this problem will be huge for society at large to trust that their voices were heard in decisions.

It will also matter for small groups.
7/ Merit > Virtue Signaling

We live in a society where virtue signaling matters over virtue.

Playing politics is illusory, misleading, and manipulative.

The less power consolidation, the more leaders are exposed, and the higher the stakes.
8/ No more sacrifice

True social good movements of the past required volunteers and sacrifice.

Now the most active and helpful community members will also be rewarded financially.

No longer will doing good be at odds with financial abundance.
9/ Competition around helpfulness

The people will only join communities where they directly receive value.

Communities will compete on this.

The ones that help the most will thrive.

And the ones that get greedy will die.
10/ Redistribution of wealth

DAOs, like Bitcoin, have the ability to create wealth as users burn their fiat to purchase tokens.

The upside can be substantial.

Those who believe and get involved will create wealth.

The slow-moving institutions will miss out.
Society will be unrecognizable by the end of 2022.

DAOs will play a big role in this shift.

... perhaps the biggest.

The spiritual path, a thread:
The spiritual path is not for the faint of heart.

It is both the toughest of life’s paths and the most rewarding.

All journeys are unique.

But all lead to the same place: total love and oneness.
The path requires alignment of mind, body, and spirit.

All are a part of You.

One without the other leads to imbalance.

Recognize and nurture all aspects of You.

I’ll show you how.

How to build a sales team:
To start, a note of credit to the great Jim Herbold from Box.

He was my hands-on mentor for many years. Bolt sales would not exist without him.

Much of this is learned wisdom from him.

Ok, here we go 👇
1/ Close the first deals yourself, end-to-end

It’s impossible to now how to construct a sales team without first knowing how to conduct a sale.

Some founders try to hire before this step.

Doing so is skipping a crucial step of getting intimate with your product and customers.

How I’ve focused my time and energy scaling Bolt from 1 to 400 people:
1/

The job as CEO completely changes every time the company 2X’s.

A CEO for a 5 person company is vastly different from 10 people, 20 people, and so on.

It’s important to recognize this, and lead as appropriate to your stage.
2/

Bad leaders want to make themselves irreplaceable.

Good leaders replace themselves with those more capable.

Growing as a CEO means leaning into this.

The CEO job is effectively an anti-job: to continually put oneself out of work to gain compounding leverage.

At Bolt, we’ve hired 400+ exceptional people.

Even in our earliest days, we were hiring out of Facebook, Twitter, and Google.

The secret?

Let’s dig in:
1/ Nail the vision

It’s day 1, and you might have nothing to your name.

But even still, you have something that no one else has.

That’s your vision.

How is this world going to change? How are you going to be a part of it?

In the early days, vision is your most lethal weapon.
2/ Nail You

On top of vision, you have... You.

Your story, corks, values, passions.

In meetings, let your personality shine through.

Don’t hesitate to get vulnerable.

Ultimately, candidates are deciding if they believe in you as a leader.

Show them who you are.

Need help? Let's dive in with examples 👇👇👇
7 years ago, @balajis was my professor at Stanford.

He developed an insight nearly a decade ago which looks more obvious by the day.

This is playing out in real time across every industry.
