The House has now passed President Biden's Build Back Better Act – bringing us one step closer to President Biden’s desk for signing. Here's just some of what's in it.

THREAD:
The Build Back Better Act lowers the costs of prescriptions drugs — so if you’re one of millions of Americans with diabetes, sometimes paying $1,000 a month for insulin — the cost is capped to $35 a month.
This bill will lower the cost of child care so working families don’t pay more than 7% of their income on care for their youngest children, which will help millions of parents get back to work.
The Build Back Better Act improves access to education by providing universal preschool for every 3-and 4-year old in America and increases Pell Grants for working families and apprenticeship programs for education beyond high school.
The Build Back Better Act will lower the costs of elder care, health care, and housing.
Taken together with the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the Build Back Better Act is the most significant investment in our fight against the climate crisis ever.

Today, @POTUS will travel to Detroit to visit an electric vehicle assembly plant and talk about how the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law will bring good-paying, union jobs and transform our infrastructure.

Here are just some of the ways the law will change things in Michigan:
Under the new infrastructure law, Michigan would expect to receive at least $110 million over five years to support the expansion of a convenient and equitable EV charging network.
In Michigan there are 1,219 bridges and over 7,300 miles of highway in poor condition and each Michigan driver pays $644 per year in costs due to driving on roads in need of repair. Under the new infrastructure law, Michigan is expected to receive $7.3B for repairs and projects.

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal represents the most significant long-term investments in American infrastructure and global competitiveness in nearly a century.

Here are 10 of the bill's most significant wins:
1. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal invests $110B to repair and rebuild roads and bridges, focusing on resilience, equity, and safety.

2. The deal invests $65B to ensure every American has access to reliable high-speed internet and lower the cost of internet service.
3. The deal will deliver the largest federal investment in public transit ever. It will expand public transit options across every state, replace thousands of deficient transit vehicles, including buses, with clean, zero emission vehicles, and improve accessibility.

Heading into @COP26, President Biden announced the Build Back Better Framework – the largest effort to combat climate change in American history alongside his Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal.

Here's how these bills deliver on our climate goals, lower costs, and create jobs:
First, what are our climate goals?

President Biden is committed to reaching a 100% carbon pollution-free power sector by 2035 and achieving a net-zero economy by no later than 2050 – all while creating good paying, union jobs at home.
The Build Back Better Framework delivers clean energy rebates for consumers — lowering the costs of electric vehicles by $12,500 and cutting the cost of installing rooftop solar for a home by around 30 percent.

New: Tens of millions of Americans are now eligible for booster shots. Those who received Pfizer or Moderna and are 65 and older, at high-risk for severe COVID, work in a high-risk job or live in a high-risk setting can get a booster, at least 6 months after their 2nd shot.
If you’re one of the 15 million people who got J&J, you’re eligible for a booster – you can get another dose of J&J, or either Pfizer or Moderna boosters at least two months after your shot.
The FDA and CDC have determined these booster shots are safe and effective, based on the latest data and evidence, after a thorough, independent and transparent review process.

If you look at the world’s advanced economies, those countries invest an average of $14,000 per year for a toddler’s child care. America invests about $500 per year — less than 4% of what our competitors invest.

Here’s what that does to our economy:
30 years ago, the U.S. ranked 7th among advanced economies in the share of women working. Now, we rank 23rd and are losing out on more than $500B of additional economic activity per year.

The Build Back Better Agenda will cut child care costs and help parents get back to work.
The President's Build Back Better Agenda will ensure that no middle class family will pay more than 7% of their income on child care for young children.

This is about more than giving working families a break. It’s about positioning our country to compete for the long haul.
