His legal defense contradicts his public bluster - claiming t's time to go on "offense" in his podcast, but asking a judge for more time to prepare for a "complex" case.
The judge just said no.
Bannon is trying to invoke his own criminal trial for media content and political grievance -- a rerun of Pres. Trump's ploys, but without Presidential powers.
With no executive privilege or pardons, this could end very different.
Put Bannon's drama aside, and this prosecution matters for a much more important reason:
Legally, it is the beginning of the *criminal* cover up phase of the attempted coup.
Bannon's essentially confessed to defying the subpoena, so does he have any strategy here?
The thrust seems to be:
1) Delay trial 2) Hope GOP takes back Congress 3) Then ask a judge to toss the case because the 1/6 probe would be over. (A judge might reject that anyway.)
The point is not to just "count Bannon out."
He faces longer odds than before, and is contradicting himself, but he also has a broader, extreme agenda here that he's willing to pursue through his *own* high stakes prosecution.
2021 y'all.

The People of YouTube have spoken -- we are releasing the *entire,* unedited interview with Rick & Morty showrunner Dan Harmon:
Clearly 20 minutes with Dan Harmon is not enough -- many, many people requested the full interview. Like, probably more requests than I've seen for any interview we've done. So here's the full tape running an hour:
“Are you a person, or are you a collection of reactions?”
Replacement Theory is pitched partly as propaganda for people who do not consider themselves racist or extreme, as we document in this new report:
There’s a long history of bigots using junk science, or invoking “empirical” arguments, to mainline views that boil down to racism, anti-Semitism and assorted bigotry.
How many rappers from Belize do you know who moved to the US, made it on a major record label, did a (questionable) bid, and then followed their faith to Israel?...
As an elected legislator who beat prison, @OriginalShyne knows his specific path was *unusual* -- but he believes the lessons are actually universal:
"Trending” captures our current era, where virtually all topics — even state-sanctioned murder — are reduced to their “viral” elements.
An issue or stance becomes “hot,” then fades like it’s some sort of fashion...
The sign's from last summer; @kendricklamar tackles the same theme in his new song:
"I thought you'd known better
I been ducking the pandemic [and] social gimmicks
I been ducking the overnight activists
I'm not a trending topic / I'm a prophet!"
Many in Washington are getting Afghanistan wrong, again.
"There is a real chance" the decision to exit Afghanistan will spark problems there that "destroy Biden’s presidency."
- Ian Bremmer
A lot of the D.C. critique of withdrawal isn't *even about* what the ideal foreign policy should be -- but whether withdrawal will hurt Biden with the public... which *supports withdrawal.*
