BREAKING: Tesla's submitted 5 filings with the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation. Tesla seems to be seeking approval for start of production. Filings

• Body In White (Cost: $182M)
• Stamping ($150M)
• Casting ($109M)
• Paint ($126M)
• GA ($493M)

Total Cost: $1.06B
It's unclear how long an approval might take but in all 5 filings Tesla states a construction completion date of December 31, 2021.

According to the filings, the total square footage of all 5 factory sections combined is a massive 4,286,680 sqft.
Would be great if someone in construction or someone who has experience with these types of filings could tell us exactly what this means for Giga Texas and how long approval might take. Thx in advance!

I’ve been told the following info:

Tesla 4680 yield is very good. They are still working on the throughput. Many variables at play: increasing speed uncovers simple engineering issues that need adjusting or fixing.

1/4
4680s have been in production for a long time now on the pilot line. Some 4680s are going to multiple testing facilities in US & Germany. Other 4680s are being used by the structural pack engineering team, rest are being stockpiled. It’s unknown how many they've stockpiled.

2/4
Initial 4680 production capacity installation at Giga Texas will be for around 500k vehicles per year. Let’s be clear, this is just the initial capacity. Capacity will increase over time, and quite significantly with added 4680 production lines, which are modular.

I was told by a few sources that Elon is holding a Tesla all hands meeting as we speak. I will let you know if anything interesting is shared.
I'm just gonna live tweet it. Here are a few things Elon has said so far:

• GF Berlin, Oct approval.
• Tesla is going to spell Tesla on GF Austin roof
for planes landing on airport near by.
• He is praising the Tesla team for their hard work
• "FSD 10 is quite profound, a revelation, is the future; V10 next week and “button request” 2 weeks after that" Elon said

As much as you all want me to keep the Plaid S I ordered, it’s just too expensive for me lol. So there are 2 options I can take. First is to cancel the order and eat the $250 and consider it a gift to Tesla lol. The second is to take delivery and flip the car. What should I do? Image
I can take delivery and flip, I just can’t take delivery and keep (unfortunately 🥲).
I can take delivery in 5 days.

Since this tweet went up, 10 new Plaids have been purchased from inventory around the US! Would be shocked if the remaining 47 weren’t gone within 48 hours.
Here’s my referral code if you need one 😅 tesla.com/referral/sawye…

BREAKING: I was tipped off to there being brand new Plaid S inventory in the NY Metro area. I checked & it's true there were 9 vehicles available. I was still unconvinced so I tried to order one. The order went through. I got a RN, VIN # and an est delivery date of Aug 28th.

So at this point I was still sorta in shock. I just called Tesla as they told me it's a legit order and told me congrats. I said how is it fair that I can order one like this and the car isn't reassigned to a reservation holder. They didn't have much of an answer.

I have found Plaid S inventory around following area:

• Chicago
• Orlando
• NY Metro
• Los Angeles
• Bay Area
• Atlanta
• Phoenix

I stopped searching after those locations. SOOOOO crazy. Thx @bvTechie for the tip!
