Yesterday, we reported how John Muthoni, a driver with the 2NK Sacco, courageously drove to Sagana Police Station upon realising that the high school students he was carrying were smoking bhang and drinking alcohol.
Muthoni was transporting students from Nyeri to Nairobi for their mid-term break. After failing to contain the rowdy and highly intoxicated students, the driver resorted to driving them to the nearby police station.
Sadly, the 14 students (seven boys and seven girls) jumped from the windows of the moving matatu before Muthoni could reach the report desk. In his own Facebook account, Muthoni has reported that he was sacked for his act of bravely.
The Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti, has noted with grave concern the unfolding development and would like to meet the dismissed driver soonest possible. In this regard, Muthoni is requested to contact the Director urgently
through DCI’s toll free hotline 0800 722 203 or present himself at the DCI headquarters along Kiambu Road, on November 29th. Muthoni should have been commended by his employer for being brave and risking his life to report a serious crime of
immorality that involved high school kids, instead of being shown the door. Drugs abuse is a crime that breaks the hearts of many parents and ruins the lives of many young men and women. The DCI notes with great concern that school-going children are increasingly
becoming vulnerable to the temptation of drug usage during mid-term and holiday breaks. This might have contributed to recent acts of criminality, involving torching of school dormitories and other properties.
Our detectives in Nyeri have made good progress in tracking down the students who escaped and once investigations are completed, they will face the full force of the law. The Director DCI wishes to encourage more Kenyans to step forward and report crimes happening
in their communities for action. Your anonymity is 100% guaranteed. Speak up to help save lives! #FichuakwaDCI 0800 722 203. Usiogope.

Police in Isiolo are in hot pursuit of an armed gang that raided a local pub last night, shooting at a patron on his thigh and inflicting numerous injuries on others before escaping with an unknown amount of money.

Following the 8pm incident, police on patrol received a distress
call from the owner of the bar locally known as “Wazee Hukumbuka" & responded swiftly.

They tactfully approached the scene where an unestablished number of gun-toting villains were roughing up patrons, as they frisked them for valuables.

In a well calculated move that covered
the bar's possible exits, the officers announced their presence and intention to fire if the gang failed to surrender.

Defying the orders, one of the gang members went for the trigger, but before he could make a fatal aim at anyone, a hawk-eyed officer neutralized his efforts
