Interesting news on Owen Patterson - facing a 30 day suspension for bringing Parliament into disrepute.

This for lobbying - 14 times - on behalf of a company paying him 3x his annual MP salary.

And if 10% of his constituents recall him?

Should the house accept the committee report, and suspension be enacted (it normally is) then recall petition can take place:
Mr. Patterson had a VERY large majority at the last election - 22,949, which was 62.7% of the vote.

At least 8,300 people would need to sign the recall petition.

I want to share a thought with you all.

I am trying to illustrate a point, so please bear with me.

Two Twitter friends have shared a joke - the same joke.

One of them will get a lot of backlash.

The other will be seen as quirky & funny.
This is a matter of perception on the messenger. I am going to share that joke here & now:

"Just heard one of my mates tried to kill himself with 200 paracetamol!!!

He took the first two. Felt better".

Both the tellers were female - though that is immaterial.
I am male - and I am sure because of that puts a different filter on it again.

My point is this - no one shared this with the intent of causing offence. It was done to raise a smile.

We all often feel the emotion dependent upon the messenger or our own mood.
