1/ Thread Oligarchy with a caveat.

I get why people are angry with the non guilty verdict given to Rittenhouse. I don’t agree with the verdict either but we’re going to have to accept the verdict.

2/ For you it has and we as a country have come a long way because up until the 1950s and 60s America “technically” was a democracy in reality though up until then it was an oligarchy.

3/ So what’s an oligarchy you may ask here’s the definition oligarchy “ a small group of people having control of a country, organization or institution”.

4/ In 1792 which was the first presidential election there were depending on what state 2-3 requirements in order to vote.

1. You had to be a white male
2. You had to have owned property
3. You needed to pay a certain amount of money

In that election only 6% of the

5/ Population voted. I also want to be clear on something here there was democratic institutions back when America was new as a country but they only protected white men. If you we’re black SOL, if you we’re a woman SOL, Native American SOL.
