@PeacockFlu The case detected in Hong Kong has been staying in South Africa from Oct. 22nd to Nov. 11th.
He had a PCR negative result before flying from HK to SA, and another negative after arriving at HK from SA. His 2nd test result was positive on Nov. 13th during qurantine.
@PeacockFlu 1/ Some update.
Qurantine hotel breach happened.
This 36YO patient with B.1.1.529 infected another 60YO male in the opposite room.
@PeacockFlu 2/ the 36YO patient was in the quarantine hotel from Nov. 11th until 14th, when his 2nd PCR test result came back positive.
The 62YO patient was in the same hotel from Nov. 10th until 18th, when his 4th PCR test result came back positive.
@PeacockFlu 3/ Both patients have been double vaxxed with BNT around May/June. and their Ct value was 18 and 19 respectively.
@PeacockFlu 4/ The investigation team took 87 env samples in and around their rooms, and found 25 of them positive, from both rooms.
@PeacockFlu 5/ They believe it's airborne transmission (yes apparently it is), and they subsequently tightened their already tight qurantine rules:
Now masks with exhale valves are banned throughout the arrival quarantine period.
