The mainstream SF press generally fails to ask the right questions or hold him accountable.

Come June, the voting public very much will.
Prolific organized repeat offenders pass through the hands of the SF DA’s office over and over again

But it seems to take a national level scandal and video to rouse Chesa Boudin’s PR team to “we are taking action” when the pattern of no action already happened.
Repeating pattern over and over.

“We took action” when no action was taken.

Then finger pointing. Parole. PD. Everyone else.

This is rampant, intentional, and a consistent pattern. The media falls for it every time.

Then attack Asian American women reporters like @DionLimTV

Plant stories with out of town opinion writers

Violate victims rights behind closed doors
Only work with approved reporters. If real investigative journalists like @bighadshaban come knocking, ignore the request
While systematically blaming and harassing Asian American reporters just doing their job

No Algebra in middle schools will be California state wide, following SF’s disastrous lead

“The process should have definitely involved STEM faculty from top CA universities with direct knowledge of what is needed for success as STEM majors. It is absurd this was not done.”
This change directly results in far less access to advanced math

It also means California will produce far fewer engineers of all kinds: electrical, mechanical, chemical, structural

High paying STEM jobs are closed off to public school kids
My immigrant fam came to California for the chance at social mobility and we got it. The avg public school education in California was never world class but it still gave me the basics.

Without advanced math the door would have been closed to me. Now it will be for the next gen.

How does a master designer/engineer founder like @raphaelschaad get started?

Sketching is the first step— think through a detailed problem and explore options
Jumping into code and prototyping the actual medium allows you to really explore the nitty-gritty details

HTML, CSS, JS, no framework— it's the next stage to directly experiencing how an interaction will make the user feel.

Feeling is a last-mile intangible of a great design.
This is one of the things I love about @Cron — at the pixel level you can get to a platonic ideal of design perfection.

Little details and getting it just right matters so much more for things a billion people can use, like Calendar

I live here. I’ve met the people in this video, I’ve done my research, and I know my community.

Our community is in pain and we want both criminal justice reform and safety.

Open air drug markets in SF are the result of bad policy by extremist far leftists who refuse to allow social workers to collaborate with law enforcement the way they do in Amsterdam and other European countries

@RafaelMandelman explains in @ShellenbergerMD’s book San Fransicko
This book is lucid, full of real SF citizens like @Twolfrecovery @bettersoma and others who directly experience the worst of our deep policy mistakes buttressed by systemic nonprofit graft and corruption

What do SF Supervisors think about the open air drug laws? Well people like Campos or Boudin sponsor drug use and crime by refusing to enforce the laws. That’s the far far left.

Most people trying to do something new will still err too much on blending in

Often it is fear of not being taken seriously that keeps people from taking the risk.

Before you ship it, try to detect if you are pulling your punch because of this fear.
The bigger danger for people who have new original ideas is that people can’t tell it is different because at surface level it looks the same

Blending in is what society teaches us to do for most of our childhood and adult lives. It’s safe. We are social creatures and want to be a member of a tribe.
