I've been tenured for a decade at the university my father dropped out of in his early 20s and the Hall Building escalators have been broken in one way or another the *entire* time
this is what le patrimoine means to me
considered against the vicissitudes of political and social change in Canada since Confederation, the brokenness of these campus facilities is a tradition of no mean standing, and merits textbook coverage as such
are you there, Jack Granatstein? It's me, Ted McCormick
fixing them at this point would be erasing history
real ship of Theseus territory tbh

my movie would have done well if it weren't for the world in and for which I made it
after years of searching I found the guy who is not a man of his time
I haven't seen it and I don't have strong feelings either way but if anything gives me pause -- as an Xennial -- it's probably the haircuts

Scientific racism is really big with Canadian public intellectuals, not enough people seem to know this
A reputation for civility/passive aggression is no bar to embracing and promoting junk science

your own movements are increasingly irrelevant

this is the dream
just realizing now that the real timeframe for my book was the historical period in which radical mobility and not the radical irrelevance of mobility was the cutting edge
