I’ve been seeing this ‘108 football deaths in 6 months’ figure going around and wondered where it came from.
It’s not mentioned anywhere in the Express link from James and Bev.
So I had a look for it…

There are several blogs talking about this story, which give the source as Real Time News from Israel.
This write-up says RTN looked at deaths of FIFA players in 12 months between Dec 2020-Nov 2021, and produced this 108 number

I found Real Time News. It’s in Hebrew, so I used Google Translate.
It looks like a subscription blog covering national news with a lot of anti- Covid measures stories

So what was their story?
- they looked at all cases where a sports player or coach collapsed while playing or not playing, in all sports, from school to professional level, in the world between Dec 20 - Nov 21
4/6
They say they found 183 cases of which 108 died
- they only give the names of 30 people, of which 14 died.
- some of those named cases from early in the year (Dec - March-ish) were too young to even have been eligible for vaccines then anyway

So what about the FIFA players?
RTN did look at the Wiki page on association footballers who had died which playing.
RTN’s view = deaths have soared
I looked at that page too.
14 deaths in 2021. Compared to 10 in 2017 and 12 in 2016
It’s not very different from other years
