Today, representatives of the prosecutor's office claimed that unlabeled publications of Memorial had a negative effect on children. Memorial's lawyers were unable to get a specific answer to the question of what kind of information was harmful to children.
At the request of the defendant, the judge attached to the case some documents, including a business card of Elena Zhemkova marked with a "foreign agent" label.
The judge did not satisfy the motions for witnesses,
as well as the appeals of citizens and associations to the case, but decided to investigate them when the case materials would be considered.
Representatives of the prosecutor's office responded to objections and questions from International Memorial lawyers after long pauses and mostly repeated allegations of systematic violation of the law.
For example, lawyer Eismont asked whether the organization could be the subject of violations of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and other international documents mentioned in the lawsuit, the representatives of the prosecutor's office could not answer this.
There were a lot of people wishing to get to the session, a queue lined up in front of the court building. Accredited journalists, diplomats and a few observers were allowed inside.
