From the anti-vaxxers @
Lancet Regional Health - Europe
Volume 11, December 2021
'In the UK it was described that secondary attack rates among household contacts exposed to fully vaxxed index cases was similar to household contacts exposed to unvaxxed index cases' (25% to 23%)'
That was transmission. Regarding infection:
'Peak viral load did not differ by vaccination status'
They conclude:
'It appears to be grossly negligent to ignore the vaccinated population as a possible and relevant source of transmission when deciding about public health control measures.'

Gross negligence is essentially what current vac-sanctified reopening amounts to.
The vaccines were never designed (and never even promised by Pharma) to reduce infection or transmission. Which we're seeing pretty much everywhere--w/ virtually zero correlation between vax rates & case rates (or even excess death rates in UK).
It was our public-health apparatus that promised you this, to encourage vaccination, until data forced them to focus on symptom mitigation (which vax does seem to help with, again, temporarily) tho with vax health risks (eg, myocarditis) until recently denied by same authorities.

So, re: data & integrity:
Intriguing Op Ed by 🇨🇦 fmr MP, on finance, int'l trade committees, experienced w/ Pharma, his parents each contracted AIDs & died due to tainted blood supply. Asking: do we really want to be censoring off-message MDs, scientists?
kelownanow.com/watercooler/ne…
When, how, how fast & why did Society determine that doctors--not isolated cranks--but front-line clinicians & independent scientists by the hundreds & thousands--working on C19 were not just to be disregarded...
but actively silenced, censured as a threat to public health?
Again, not (just) country docs but whole associations headed up by eminent figures:

Dr. Steven Pelech, UBC, Chair of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Covid Care Alliance w/ over 1000 MDs, virologists, vaccinologists, immunologists 'with serious concerns' re: C19 mgmt

The ethics of mandatory flu vax (2015)
'a successful strategy for policy-makers & others hoping to increase vaccination rates is to design a “choice architecture” that influences behavior of healthcare professionals without foreclosing other options'
sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
Raising the question of what a 'choice architecture' that is itself ethical would look like. Insofar as it is financial, it is by that very fact potentially regressive--wherein the topography of certain choices is steeper for the economically disadvantaged ...
One 'choice architecture' that might significantly alter my choices would be an intellectual architecture closer to the standards for scientific & democratic debate that we used to idealize pre-COVID, or perhaps pre-Trump-Trauma.

'Arbitrator...held that ESA’s mandatory vaccination policy was unreasonable, to the extent that employees refusing to get vaccinated can be disciplined or terminated.'
lawtimesnews.com/practice-areas…
'“In my opinion, ESA has acted prematurely & without considering the individual rights of employees.”'

In a functioning legal system in which differing interests & positions are heard, we might expect a patchwork of such rulings (for & against) based on specific circumstances.
Which would seem to be the basis also for the US courts' striking down of Biden Admin's attempt to legislate through OSHA. Universal measures stand to be indifferent or insensible of the actual local configurations of circumstances that they attempt to govern.

BMJ: Journal of the Institute of Medical Ethics

For the curious, multiple references to other vax ethics papers.

We can disagree, but this is how issues are framed by medical ethicists.
@impishchimp @Lidsville @KimPigSquash @albertarabbit @cakesalie

jme.bmj.com/content/early/…
'neither a moral obligation to vaccinate nor a sound ethical basis to mandate vax under any circumstances, even for hypothetical vaccines that are medically risk-free'
'Agent autonomy with respect to self-constitution has absolute normative priority over reduction or elimination of the associated risks to life.'

A 2nd view on leakiness:
'G. Vanden Bossche joined 'the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Global Health Discovery team in Seattle (USA) as Senior Program Officer; he then worked with the Global Alliance for Vaccines & Immunization (GAVI) in Geneva as Senior Ebola Program Manager'
He's not Jesus, not infallible, and not anti-vax--as a vaccinologist, he argues for different vaccines...

'Mass infection prevention and mass vaccination with leaky Covid-19 vaccines in the midst of the pandemic can only breed highly infectious variants.'
'Prior to the start of this universal vaccination program (and until today!), no single publication existed that came even close to suggesting that mass vaccination campaigns using non-transmission-blocking vaccines could be successful...'

You know, given the firehose of data, different information sets may, in these vexatious times, be too readily chalked up to misinformation.
From unwashed anti-vaxxers at NatGeo:
nationalgeographic.com/science/articl…
The less virulence over time is one optimistic scenario, but these recent experiments showed--one study, animal testing, Marek's disease--that viruses can evolve to become *much* more virulent.
Or, directly from the peer-reviewed study published in PLOS, in 2015, from an era before data not wholly favorable to universal vax promotion was anti-vax.
