We’re so far down the rabbit hole now, I’m not sure how we get out?
“She is charged with committing a public nuisance by indecently exposing her penis to other members of the public, whilst masturbating from a property window.”
Can Twitter hive mind point me to convictions of biological women exposing themselves and masturbating in public?
Some people ask me why the gender identity stuff matters?
This is why - allowing a man to say he’s a woman makes a mockery of science, of data, and of the law. Conflation of sex and gender identity is dangerous.
Recording crimes according to how someone identifies makes a mockery of crime statistics.
Recording gender identity rather than biological sex on NHS records - and using that as a basis for invitations to health screening - endangers lives.
I wrote recently for @conshome that there is no doubt that gender dysphoria exists, but no-one is born in the wrong body – your body is exactly as nature intended. For some people, there is a definite disconnect between their brain and their body…
…and, for a much smaller number, the only thing that will allow a full and happy life is cross-sex hormones or surgery. Those people need our support.
But bad data can be worse than no data. And there are men that abuse the system for their own ends.
Gender dysphoria is the only condition that everyone, including the NHS, is expected to affirm rather than fully understand the root cause of, and potentially treat.
There is an epidemic of rapid onset gender dysphoria, particularly in young girls, that will be dangerous if we say nothing.
None of us should be able to stay quiet in all good conscience.
I come under attack from certain quarters for saying this, people like to throw around words they don’t understand. They try to rewrite history, and to conflate these issues with issues faced by gay people last century.
More often than not, men and transwomen. Always aggressive.

No-one in our @Commonswomequ hearing yesterday suggested restricting RSE children receive, other than all MPs and all participants agreeing that it should be age appropriate.
For me, yesterday was a lesson in where our politics sits currently. As the only Conservative MP on yesterdays panel I was struck by the palpable fear of other MPs at the fact that people may say things they don’t like.
“Member States shall deploy appropriate staff and resources in sufficient numbers to carry out border control at the external borders, in accordance with Articles 7 to 14, in such a way as to ensure an efficient, high and uniform level of control at their external borders.”
French border control have solutions:
“Border checks at external borders may be relaxed as a result of exceptional and unforeseen circumstances.“
Today we should have been hosting @BorisJohnson here in Workington.
I am relieved that the events of the last few days are coming to an end, but I’m also incredibly sad at the loss of a Prime Minister who led us to such an incredible election victory.
1/6
He delivered Brexit, led us through Covid, led the world in it’s support for Ukraine and has only just started to deliver tax reform that will benefit each of us.
2/6
I was proud to back back him to be the Leader of our party, and I have been proud to call @BorisJohnson a friend to Workington.

Some of us signed the letter AND are members of @CEN_HQ - because being an environmentalist, being supportive of Net Zero without pricing out my constituents, and wanting to cut the cost of living for the same are not mutually exclusive @Conservatives principles.
We need to shift heating to off-peak decarbonised electricity, preferably combined with district heating, with a move [back] from combi boilers to storage systems
I believe this is a fundamental misunderstanding of the proposed planning reforms from @WildlifeTrusts, of whose aims I am a supporter (and a member of @cumbriawildlife)
Here’s why I think the reforms will result in greater harmony between our built and natural environments ⬇️
Under the proposals, land can be designated as ‘growth’, ‘renewal’ or ‘protected’. The latter obviously designed to restrict development in areas where development is likely to bring harm - thy includes green belt, AONBs or local nature sites.
Current frameworks for environmental assessment are disjointed and cumbersome. A quicker, simpler framework can speed up decision making while protecting and enhancing the environment.
