A strange feature of Western society is the almost universal values inversion where everything that was celebrated yesteryear is now verboten and vice versa. For advocates of such, it is progress and for others destructive iconclasm at best but this only addresses the superficial
surface values (well not quite superficial for many) and doesn't touch how deep this sense of inversion affects even basic logic and reasoning. Everywhere where Westerners cling strongest to the status quo and follow elite and government signals to obey, they mark this as somehow
being either a persecuted minority or avant garde thinker. Case in point the Facebook whistleblower farce which was a transparent government op is spun as a "brave" dissident speaking truth to power. Or regime media workers repeating state department press clippings as poor put
upon workers bravely reporting what the powerful don't want you to know. In the academy, everyone is demanding censorship of everyone else in the name of being a powerless victim of nefarious forces who just coincidentally is pushing the government line and using state power to
coerce others to adopt their position. The persecuted celebrity is a victim of evil doers despite constantly appearing on every regime media network and meeting with it's government officials. It's all just bizarre how everything is flipped upside down.

What these people are describing is not disenchantment but dawning realization the mission of the Chinese Communist Party is the national rejuvenation of the Chinese people and not Liberalism. The biggest anti-party elements on the mainland share the same class background as that
of his Taiwanese friend, upper middle class liberal bourgeoisie usually with media or academic or legal backgrounds who had for decades been economically privileged by the state. Simultaneously the withdraw of the state would naturally mean the rise of this caste to political
prominence as is the case of the West. The problem is that this group are fundamentally at heart, hyper status conscious cowards and incapable of exercising the decisive action necessary for a state to avoid stagnation. Their attitude can best be described as what would the

I've almost certainly written about this before, but the way Western regime propaganda works isn't by direct censorship but by saturation attacks. It doesn't hide the truth persay, it overwhelms it with irrelevant information and messaging discipline by hammering in on topics the
US government wants to be part of the water cooler conversation. Oh the "brave" stenographer's at the NYT reporter than the US murdered 70 women and children? News for a single day and you will never heard about it from any bit of the prestige media ever again. A non-sequitor?
Order all the pundits to warm up the keyboards to spin this story non-stop in a direction desired by the information warfare office of various security services. This is how US propaganda works both foreign and domestic. The reason it's weakening on the domestic front is that

The strangest manifestation of American conservatives is their earnest belief that the Chinese somehow control their media and politicians, which ironically is a belief fostered by their media and politicians as an ad hominem. In between their media screaming about China and
their politicians practically declaring war on China rhetorically every single day, they still believe this is true. The only explanation is that they are dirty curs, basically whipped dogs who growl at anything but the people actively administering the beatings. They see stuff
like Jim Clancy, fired from CNN for talking about a particular country or Rick Sanchez, also fired, or Marc Lemont Hill, or Fareed Zakaria's groveling public apology, or their politicians regular kow tows to said country and think the Chinese are behind it all. Laughter is second

The reason I am against the humanization and anthropocentric treatment of pets is because it is a fundamental mistaken value judgement that treats non-human life at the same level as human life. To elevate the moral value of a dog to that of a human is not a sign of benevolence
or moral superiority but rather moral confusion and to degrade the value of a human life to that of a dog's. The human capacity for compassion, rather than an infinite ocean which we imagine it to be, is rather a limited and shallow well. Whenever we as human's pour out a little
of it to others, less remains for every one else. This is a fundamental reality that many people are not willing to acknowledge or accept, but it doesn't stop it from being true. We are not saints or boddhisattva's with limitless compassion. We are human beings with all the flaws

None of these countries really have anything at all in common aside from being enemies America made. Russia, Turkey, and Venezuela actually have elections no more "fortified" than American ones, it's just that they've elected governments the US doesn't like. China really is the
odd man out in that it is an explicit Leninist state without even the pretense of elected representatives. You've got a wannabe Islamic Republic, three non-ideological states, and an official atheist state under the guiding ideology of Marxism-Leninism. It's really a disparate
collection of so-called bad guys. The "good guys" are on the other hand remarkably identical. Representative oligarchic democracies mostly under US military occupation with a nomenklatura comprised of compradors. The real separator between what the US calls good and bad is not

You can tell that the US and it's pets don't give a shit about self determination or popular sovereignty by the complete non reaction by the media, ngo, and think tank circus to the fate of Catalan independence. No black and white dramamentary features on the BBC, no parading of
of separatist sob stories on CNN, no senior analyst fellow arrogantly announcing the end of Spain in the NYT. Not a word from the editorial board at the WaPo how this is a sign of papist tyranny manifesting in the black souls of the Spaniard. Just mass arrests of all the leaders
followed by a quick trial and a dozen years in prison for the lot of people them followed by a pardon after nearly 4 years in jail all dutifully reported once and never ever mentioned again. Western state media works by not on what it reports, but on what it repeats. It is the
