For anyone not planning to vote in 2022, or planning to vote for a minor party candidate (who cannot possibly win)--and, therefore, possibly help fascists gain control of the House and/or the Senate:
Tell me exactly what good you think that would do.
1/
I'll respond to your arguments favoring helping fascists.
(Any tweet with the message "My vote doesn't count anyway" or "Democrats are no better" will earn you an immediate block without comment. Stupidity in the face of an existential threat doesn't merit a platform.)
Go.
2/
Let me be clear. The accounts saying your vote doesn't change anything, or tHe TwO pArTiEs ArE jUsT aS bAd! are all telling you to give up and let fascism win. When you see those messages, just block without engaging. Arguing with them spreads the psyop hopelessness.
3/
The idea of not-voting-for-Democrats to "send a message" is just as bad. It sounds good, but when fascists take over, no one will care about any "message" that was "sent." It's not as if letting fascists take power will move the country in any desirable direction.
4/
Similarly, the argument you're "punishing Democrats" for doing or not-doing something--or that you don't want to "reward" them for some failing--won't do any good when America is under fascist rule. You're not punishing Democrats by electing Hitler. You're harming yourself.
5/
The argument, "I don't want to vote for someone imperfect" is nothing more than masturbation. It may make you feel good for a moment, but it accomplishes nothing, and it leaves a mess.
Is your momentary pleasure worth the price of a permanent fascist reich?
6/
All the arguments I've seen are variations on the above.
Prove me wrong. I dare you. Make a case for letting racist fascist bigots take power. Go ahead. Try. I dare you.
7/
I missed one argument: "I won't vote for the lesser of two evils". It's a variation on the masturbation idea. EVEN IF Democrats are simply the "lesser evil" (which they're not--they're a positive good), that doesn't justify allowing the greater evil--even if you moan.
8/
This is a practical thought. If you live in a state or a district that will go red, there is an argument to be made for voting for the least objectionable Republican.
Sometimes though, despite appearances, a Democrat may have a chance. Watch polling.
Gerrymandering is dangerous--to the party that does it.
The idea is to collect massive numbers of the OTHER PARTY into a few districts, while making narrow majorities of OUR PARTY in MANY districts.
Since those majorities are narrow, a few votes could change the outcome.
10/
The only attempt at answering my challenge (so far) is this account, which doesn't even try to justify not voting for Democrats, but instead wants to incite anger and division between Democrats so as to ensure more Republican/fascist victories.
11/
The "blame" for "fascist takeover" clearly should fall primarily on the fascists themselves and the people who vote for them--and secondarily on voters who stayed home or wasted their votes on non-Democrats, resulting in us having no margin for error in the House or Senate.
12/
Here's one of those bothsides accounts for you to block without responding.

When Congress comes back from their short recess, Democrats will pass Build Back Better.
Then they must raise the debt ceiling. Republicans have threatened to filibuster that. But NOT passing it will tank the whole world. Democrats will raise the debt ceiling.
1/7
Raising the debt ceiling might require modifying the filibuster unless Bitch McTraitor caves again. Which he might do.
It's a game of chicken Democrats are prepared to play. Republicans WANT Democrats to modify the filibuster, because they think they'll get the Senate back.
2/7
If Republicans get back the Senate, and Democrats have already modified the filibuster in order to raise the debt ceiling, McTraitor will use that as an excuse to modify the filibuster further (or kill it) to get anything Russia wants.
In 2022, there are 34 Senators to be elected. 14 of those seats are currently held by Democrats, 20 by Republicans. It's a good opportunity to firm up Democratic control of the Senate.
1/4
5 Senators--all Republicans--have announced they're not seeing reelection. Those seats are open, and will not have an incumbent in the race:
Richard Burr- North Carolina
Pat Toomey - Pennsylvania
Rob Portman - Ohio
Richard Shelby - Alabama
Roy Blunt - Missouri
2/4
North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Ohio and perhaps Missouri are possible pickups for Democrats.
Wisconsin is another competitive state where Democrats have traditionally done well, and a possible flip (let's get rid of Ron Johnson).
There are about five areas for which Twitter has been attacking AG Garland.
1) Hasn't indicted Trump based on Mueller's work. 2) Hasn't indicted Trump for the Stormy Daniels thing. 3) Hasn't enforced the Bannon subpoena. 4) Hasn't brought sedition charges against anyone.
1/18
And finally:
5) He's not telling us what he's doing.
Let's look at all of these areas.
First, be aware, for any major indictment, a grand jury must be empanelled, and all the evidence that has been gathered must be presented to them.
2/18
A grand jury can request more evidence and more testimony in addition to what has already been accumulated. Any indictments come out of their deliberations.
This means that nothing that has come before can be simply picked up and used to put handcuffs on someone tomorrow.
I watch the Moon change phase and position among the stars--every night.
The Big Dipper is in a different place in the sky--every night.
Venus and Jupiter and Saturn keep moving.
1/4
Familiar constellations--Orion, Canis Major, Andromeda--rotate around the pole, every night.
Every morning, the Sun rises in a slightly different spot against the mountain peaks. And it sets in a different place in the evening.
2/4
Intellectually, I knew all this, because I love science and I studied astronomy in school. Yeah, I'm a geek, and a little nerdy, and I always have been.
Impatience for show trials, calls to fire Garland if he doesn't quickly satisfy our bloodlust, the thirst for shattering announcements--this is unhealthy nostalgia for the chaos and excitement of the defunct Trump Reich, rather than a refreshing return to rational process.
1/7
The desperate panic and cynical insistence that nOtHiNg Is hApPeNiNg! (which none of the critics can possibly know to be true) play into the hands of authoritarians who want you to be exhausted, bitter, frightened and disheartened.
All that rhetoric helps Trumpian fascism.
2/7
Spreading distrust of the Biden Administration and the Department of Justice strengthens Republicans. They want you to suspect Something Is Wrong, even in the midst of an expanding economy and immense legislative victories and no evidence.
