◉ Some build-up methods adopted by Real Sociedad 433 earlier this season when faced Roger Schmidt's PSV in 4231
[short tactical thread] #PSV #RealSociedad #UEL
◉ Involving GK in the build-up
This usually forced PSV to commit their CAM alongside the CF to press Sociedad GK + CBs, and one CM to jump on the DM. as a consequence, PSV 2 CMs are underloaded in the center as well as their right winger being in a dilemma out wide
When their CAM stayed with Sociedad DM, PSV LW tried to press the RCB + LB=> RB. Here GK with a long distribution to Isak (CF) positioned on the left HS while being surrounded by a W, CM, even the RB for a 2nd ball chance.
◉ Winger clear it for CF. otherwise, he receives freely
◉ Wall passes
As PSV's 1-1 were one on the DM while the other pressures the CB, wall passes were aimed at the far CB. However, the DM could be found on some occasions due to having some distance with his marker.
◉ Finding the CF between the lines
This was achieved thanks to Sociedad CMs smart movements to open up passing lanes in between the lines. The action after could be combined with lay-offs or even turning to drive it forward.
◉ 3151
DM between the CBs, one CM to drop while the other to stay up. FBs high = wingers could be found in half-spaces.

A build-up solution adopted by Liverpool v. Inter
◉ Having Robertson too deep in line with the CBs = attracted Inter RWB more, creating good space in behind to operate
◉ Below, directly to Diaz (LW) = 1v1 situation
[Random tactical thread]
Milan created a mid-box around Sampdoria mid 3 in 532.
◉ From initial 4231, Massias occupied an inside role to form a box alongside Milan's other mids.
◉ The aim in the 1st phase of build-up is to find the extra man in ... 1/6
...Midfield using the GK in the process.
◉ However, if the extra man couldn't be found, they play directly to the target player Giroud who is surrounded by the upper face of the box at least
(as shown in 1st video).
2/
◉ If they don't get the 2nd ball, they can still regain it due to the distances being closer centrally. 3/
The runs I am about to show you (including this) have been performed after having a sequence of passes + switching the point of attack, why? Simply to disorganize PSG's last 2 lines as Pochettino had 3 def mids in the 2nd to track these kinds of runs.
