🧵TX Democrats and @texasdemocrats what does it mean to be IN IT TO WIN IT in 2022! It means we have to get our act together. Last night we spent hours and hours collecting links to candidate fundraising pages and website URLs etc and this is what we discovered:
We all know Texas School Boards have never been more important. Several TX School Board candidates let their website URLs lapse. This means no info, no fundraising links and some that did have pages and Twitter haven't posted a damn thing since 2016. 😲🥶
This is not the year to let School Board Candidates to just let things slide. GET IT TOGETHER! Next.. yeah let's talk about links. Those in current offices that are running again need to have the link on your Twitter go to your website not your page on TX State Gov
We found several candidates with broken links to fundraising. Next is messaging. Some had it some didn't. Candidates should list your personal goals at the top, State party goals, then Federal party goals. You should all be posting on Twitter actively and you all need Instagram
You are not reaching just those over 30 anymore. You need to reach younger voters and that may mean you need to pivot your strategy. The Texas DP needs to help candidates with that. They need to identify those running who have younger voters and provide help for Social Media.
The TDP also needs to help some candidates who don't have websites up yet. Y'all need someone (or 5 people) on your team who can help candidates with messaging. This is super important. All candidates need a website, Twitter, IG, FB Fan Page (not personal) and TikTok.
There needs to be a Master List of those running on the TDP page with links to everything from handles, websites, and Donor links.We should not be on our own making this data! We will share our spreadsheet w/you after we are done. It's super important to work together. We are in!
Some candidates need to work on their Keyword search. It's been hard finding some of you online at all. WE have like 5 weeks till January to GSD! We need a coordinator at the TDP gathering videos and posting on YouTube. Messaging has never been more important. Let's get it done!
Last of all when you see Good Messaging that is unifying coming out of a tweet, GET IN LINE and retweet, or develop your own similar messaging to support the goal. To win we have a lot of work to do! We don't need to make this harder. We just need to work smarter and together.
