The media tries real hard to explain weapons but they just don't get it.
Failgun videos are my favorites. Guns are dangerous kids.
Guns are tools and machines. Very ancient mechanical designs that rely on compressing explosions to direct a dense mass object towards a target. Optimally to destroy the target via trauma and concussion.
There are endless debates on calibre and impact on mammals. This video takes a clinical look at tissue, bone and vessel damage by a simple gunshot.
In war there is not much discussion on the financial effects of gunshots. But the ratio of wounded to killed has changed dramatically in modern war to about 1:7. In America, the ratio of survivors to killed is much deadlier: 1:3 bradyunited.org/key-statistics
America cities have an epidemic of gun violence. And the associated costs. "“Homicide is the leading cause of death among Black men aged 15-24,”Covid has big footed the problem. whyy.org/articles/hidde…
My question is. Could America have a conversation about gun safety without politicizing it? We do it with cars. drugs, buildings, etc all the time. nhtsa.gov/press-releases…
When opioids, suicide and police killings enter the statistical top ten cause of deaths for young men. Something is terribly wrong. nbcnews.com/news/nbcblk/po…

FYI that's a population skew based on age of population. Lot more kids in Afghanistan and Yemen. But SAS also forgets to overlay violence. The numbers show Greenland is a very very dangerous place. smallarmssurvey.org/database/globa… Image

There is an aggressive campaign to deify Kyle Rittenhouse and demonize his victims. The end result is to normalize vigilantism. I am not sure if this is a cultural throwback to Billy the Kid and the dime novel but it's interesting.
The narrative is similar The factual basis erased.
the funniest part is that the ads that monetize these videos are pitching anti 5G beanies and low testosterone quack cures. ImageImage

The best private security scandal you'll read all week. Dark bananas, tin foil rooms, nuke bunkers, paramilitary missions to Mexico, pissed off strippers and Trump's private CIA called Aymntor. Can you hear that scrubbing sound? nypost.com/2021/11/20/bil…
Aram Roston first figured it out in 2017. A bunch of former Dewey people wanted to provide a private CIA. Pompeo insisted that the actual CIA would get much more vicious. Trump was positive deep state was spying on him. Aymtor to the rescue. buzzfeed.com/aramroston/tru…
Then Matt Cole at the Intercept discovered that the private CIA was even crazier than Rostom imagined. "John [Maguire] was certain that the deep state was going to kick the president out of office within a year,” theintercept.com/2017/12/04/tru…
