A) Hse Dem ldrshp team on Boebert: Racism and bigotry of any form, including Islamophobia, must always be called out, confronted and condemned in any place it is found.  This is particularly true in the halls of Congress, which are the very heart of our democracy.
B) Dem ldrs: Congresswoman Boebert’s repeated, ongoing and targeted Islamophobic comments and actions against another Member of Congress, Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, are both deeply offensive and concerning.
C) Dem ldrs: This language and behavior are far beneath the standard of integrity, dignity and decency with which the Constitution and our constituents require that we act in the House.
D) Dem ldrs: We call upon Congresswoman Boebert to fully retract these comments and refrain from making similar ones going forward.
E) Dem ldrs: Leader McCarthy and the entire House Republican Leadership’s repeated failure to condemn inflammatory and bigoted rhetoric from members of their conference is outrageous.
F) Dem ldrs: We call on the Republican Leadership to address this priority with the Congresswoman and to finally take real action to confront racism

1) From Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) after her phone call with Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN).

Boebert tells me she attempted to have a call Friday. She was told that a meeting “would not happen.”

However, the two spoke on a conference call today around 12:30 pm et.
2) Boebert says “as a Christian woman” she thought it was appropriate to apologize. But according to Boebert, Omar “didn’t think that was enough.” Omar wanted a specific public apology. Boebert told Omar “if there’s going to be another apology it needs to come from you."
3) Boebert said the call was not tense, but there was a bit of “talking over one another.”

Boebert said Omar needs to apologize for her “anti-American, anti-Semitic and anti-police rhetoric.”

After about two minutes on the line, Boebert says Omar “hung up on me.”

1) GOP WI Rep Bryan Steil who represents Kenosha on Rittenhouse verdicts.
"Today’s jury decision comes at the close of a thorough legal process, and after the jury had the opportunity to review all the facts of the case."
2) Steil: "As I stated last year, I encourage our community to be calm and express their views lawfully and peacefully..As we move forward, we must support each other, and stand against any violence or destruction"
3) Steil: "This trial made clear that when authorities fail to utilize appropriate resources to protect public safety, violence and destruction often follows. The destruction in Kenosha did not need to occur."

A) User’s Manual to Tonight’s Vote on the Social Spending Package in the House

The House is slated to vote later tonight on the social spending package. Timing is unclear.

The House is now back in session after being in recess all afternoon.
B) The House is debating a procedural matter now related to the social spending plan. This debate is rather feisty about the merits and demerits of the bill.

We expect a vote series (NOT FINAL PASSAGE) on the bill sometime after 7 pm et if not 8 pm et.
C) Once the House is done with that vote series, a short 20 minute debate remains on the bill. However, that could drag on..especially if Democratic and GOP leaders use their “special time” to debate. That could extend the period significantly.

1) The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the House being SCHEDULED to debate social spending bill today. But unclear IF there will be a vote today
2) Moderate Democrats are still pushing for information from the Congressional Budget Office. A full score of the bill could come as late tomorrow afternoon.
3) If moderate Democrats are dug in and want a full score and time to ponder things, we may be staring at a “Friday Night Special” for a vote on the bill or a weekend vote.

1) CBO announces it will have final score on social spending bill "by the end of the day on Friday, November 19." Other "titles" of the bill are rolling out this week. No 15: Title I, Committee on Agriculture; Title IV, Committee on Financial Services.
2) November 19—Title II, Committee on Education and Labor; Title III, Committee on Energy and Commerce; Title VI, Committee on the Judiciary; Title VII, Committee on Natural Resources; and Title XIII, Committee on Ways and Means.
3) This timing has different impacts on both the House and Senate.

The House doesn’t ABSOUTELY NEED a FINAL CBO score to debate and vote on the bill. It is more political. Moderate Democrats are insisting that they have a CBO score before considering the bill.
