Is #bonsai the original generative art form? Nature plays as big a part in the design of a tree as the artist themselves.

Bringing bonsai into the metaverse has its challenges, but I’m certain NFTs are uniquely designed to help bonsai artists.

Here’s how.

A 🧵 Image
First, we at @BonsaionChain are attempting to bring bonsai into the metaverse. I wrote about the project here. 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
Unlike traditional art, bonsai trees are constantly evolving. They must be tended to. Watered, wired, fertilized, etc.

It’s time consuming and capital intensive.

Its why the current biz model for bonsai artist such as @EiseiEn @btonight & others depends so much on sales.
We are creating bonsai NFT trading cards. We think it creates an opportunity to partner with artists to show off them & their trees.

Bonsai enthusiasts can support their favorite artists by collecting their cards.

Bonsai artists can be compensated 4 maintaining trees

Win/win
As the trees evolve each year (new designs, new pots, etc) the cards maintain their value as enthusiasts can collect the tree year after year. Seeing how the tree changes.

And of course, collecting a tree’s “rookie” card becomes even more valuable.
Artists can introduce new trees each year while keeping us updated. And if an artist does want to sell a collectable tree, it may have added value since it’s been featured in our NFT collection. Another win for artists.
Since bonsai is a truly international art, NFTs offer an opportunity to collect them all over the world using a common currency, in this case, #tezos

And Tezos is considered a “clean” crypto currency, which fits our environmentally friendly project.
There’s plenty we want to do, but supporting bonsai artist is our #1 goal.

The @tferriss podcast with @naval & @cdixon is the gold standard of Web3 and NFT discussion.

If I could inject it into my veins I would.

One problem, it’s 2:30 hrs long.

I listened to it so you don’t have to.

Here’s 5 Key Takeaways

A 🧵

1. Reasons to be in Web3

And I quote,

“Open source, open platforms, portable data, user privacy, user control keys, community owned and controlled networks.”

Seems like a good list of reasons to be in the NFT space!
2. Ownership

What if the drivers of Uber got to own the company?

What if a community can have a say in governance.

Why rent space on a web2 platform (Facebook) when you can own one on Web3?

I own my @LazyLionsNFT PFP.

We at @BonsaionChain are starting a bonsai NFT project.

We’ve chosen to use #tezos for our initial plans.

We think the #CleanNFT is a great fit for us.

Here’s 3 reasons why.

Tezos offers us three things.

1. Energy efficient technology

2. Low transaction costs

3. Supportive NFT community that celebrates experimentation.

Let’s break these 3 down.
1. Energy Efficient

Tezos is known as one of the most efficient of all the blockchains.

Eth2 may be end becoming more energy efficient, but no one knows for sure when that tech will be available.
