LOOK: Pharmally execs Mohit Dargani and Linconn Ong, detained by the Senate for failing to cooperate in the ongoing probe, will soon be sent to the Pasay City Jail. They had their med check-up, swab tests done before their transfer to Pasay. Senate PRIB photos @rapplerdotcom
@rapplerdotcom Dargani and Ong are currently at the Office of the Senate Sergeant-at-Arms, but they are expected to be transferred to the Pasay City Jail within the day. Commitment order for their transfer was already signed y Senate President Tito Sotto.
@rapplerdotcom The Senate ribbon committee moved last Fri to send Dargani and Ong to jail if they fail to retrieve financial documents that senators are asking for. The Pharmally execs failed to give exact location of the docs, so they're going to jail today.
@rapplerdotcom Dargani ended up crying during the first two hours of Friday’s hearing, insisting he and sister Twinkle were not trying to flee from the Senate investigation when they booked their foiled getaway flight from Davao City to Malaysia.
@rapplerdotcom Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Rene Samonte says both Dargani and Ong tested negative for COVID-19 in their antigen tests.
Dargani and Ong have left the Senate compound and are expected to arrive at the Pasay City Jail in around 30 mins.
@rapplerdotcom JUST IN: Detained Pharmally executives Mohit Dargani and Linconn Ong have been transferred from Senate custody to the the Pasay City Jail.
@rapplerdotcom Senate blue ribbon committee chair Richard Gordon on the transfer of Dargani and Ong to Pasay City Jail: Mr. Dargani’s and Mr. Linconn’s continuous lying, continuous refusal to answer questions truthfully and forthrightly, and the constant “palusot” have crossed the line.
@rapplerdotcom Gordon: The Senate in preserving and protecting the institution has decided to transfer them to the Pasay City jail.
@rapplerdotcom Gordon: Their continuing presence in the Senate premises also had put a strain to an overstretched OSAA
@rapplerdotcom Gordon: The Senate and public interest demand the truth of the overpricing of supplies, and the favoritism granted a company (Pharmally), whose capitalization was only P625,000, contracts amounting to billions of pesos.
@rapplerdotcom Gordon: If we do not go into the bottom of this scandal, we will not be able to hold accountable those responsible; and, the repetition of such a dastardly deed becomes a high probability still.
