Prakash Ambedker of VBA shares stage with Akhilesh Yadav of Samajwadi Party to celebrate CONSTITUTION DAY in Uttar Pradesh.This is seen as Akhilesh Yadav & Prakash Ambedker's collective message of defiance to "team" of ASADUDDIN OWAISI (& BJP) that SP will defend its Muslim votes

Prakash Ambedker has score to settle with Owaisi for Owaisi's backstabbing Prakash Ambedker, VBA & Dalits of Maharashtra, when AIMIM entered into alliance with VBA as part of Prakash Ambedker's "Dalit - "Muslim" (Bheem - Meem) alliance only to leave Prakash Ambedkar in lurch.

Prakash Ambedker's mistake of monolithizing "Muslims" as singular entity and including Upper Caste Ashraf Muslims as "Vanchit Bahujan" was to coast him betrayal of Owaisi, a Konkanastha Brahmin Hindu convert, the kind against whom Baba Sahab Ambedkar himself fought all his life.

Akhilesh Yadav also has score to settle with Asaduddin Owaisi, as Owaisi continues to attack Samajwadi Party more than BJP in his election campaign to convince Muslim voters of UP that they need to dump SP and support AIMIM instead as "Muslim Indian political Party".

The move of Akhilesh Yadav & Prakash Ambedker to share the stage was also to counter Asaduddin Owaisi's consiatent drama of using Ambedkerite icons, symbols & vocabulary to steal Dalit political assertion for his own petty political gains in the name of "Dalit-Muslim" alliance.

Asaduddin Owaisi's shameless use of Ambedkerite vocabulary that he picked from his alliance with Prakash Ambedker can be seen in his using photo of Baba Sahab in posters of his meetings in UP, which he calls " Shoshit Vanchit Samaj Sammelan" to give an aura of fake Ambedkerism.

And who does he push forward in these "Shoshit Vanchit Samaj Sammelan" (exploited & deprived people meet) ?

Pasmanda Caste Muslim leaders ?

No.

But how is Owisi doing in UP and how is he countering "BJP's B Team" narrative ? In his speeches, he is taking it headon & accepting that he is "agent". But to his (mostly Pasmanda Muslim audience) he retorts that time has come for "Muslim leadership".

Crux of his speech is that if Hindu castes can have their leaders, then why can't (monolith) "Muslims" have their own "Muslim leaders".
Which means, time for UP Muslims to reject secular parties like SP & Congress & its secular Hindu leaders like Akhilesh

Owaisi's rallies in Muslim dominated enclaves of UP are well attended.

But is he denting Muslim support of SP ? It is too early to say anything, but his carrot of "Muslim leader for Muslims " has at least set a powerful narrative, which is thought worthy for many UP Muslims.

"Muslim leader for Muslims" is clever plot, which negates Hindu secular leaders & parties & even absorbs allegations of "BJP B" team as it normalizes support of BJP to create"Muslim leadership", a cause worth dismantling monopoly of secular(Hindu led) parties representing Muslims

Such is a clever AIMIM propaganda of "changing minds of UP Muslims" against SP that its propaganda is releasing videos of "mistreatment" of Muslims in SP party that shows Muslim workers of SP being side lined publicly or made to do menial tasks in SP rallies.

Does SP take its solid UP Muslim vote for granted?

It is difficult to answer because wining elections in UP is about right political combination of caste & religion. Akhilesh can't ignore non Muslim castes & may have factored in loss of "some Muslim" support.

My perception is that, Owaisi has managed to capture imagination of Ashraf Pathan/Syed Muslims of UP with his "Muslim leader" narrative, but Pasmanda Castes remain unconvinced & still largely behind SP. But SP can't remain complicent as Owaisi is reaching out to Pasmandas of too.

Owaisi in a major climb down has not only publicly accepted existence of caste discrimination among Indian Muslims. He even reached out to UP's vast Ansari community by paying tribute to Abdul Qayyum Ansari, a well known Pasmanda leader & founder of Pasmanda led Momin Conference.

Lastly,

Akhilesh cannot take his "solid Muslim" vote for granted & must respond to political aspirations of his party's Pasmanda leaders from Ansari, Idrisi etc. castes

Forget, AIMIM, now even BJP itself has entered fray in luring Pasmandas.

Time for Akhilesh to buckle up.
