#AFG A young Afghan, Naweed Barakzai from Helmand, had recently made a FB post about Afghan national flag. Taliban intelligence, PD1 Lashkargah then detained him and had subjected him to torture. Naweed died while being tortured & then his body was thrown into Helmand river
In Nawa district. A nomad then spotted the body in Nawa District and took his body to the main hospital.His family took his body to the Provincial Governor's Office demanding justice. The Governor's Office has issued a statement assuring his family that justice will be served. Image
This is yet another example of extra judicial killings carried out by the Taliban killing innocent Afghans. Reportedly, the intelligence individuals alleged of torturing and killing him have fled the office too. Delivering justice will mean little, however. Image

#AFG Taliban soldiers clashing with Iranian border forces in Kaaang district, Nimroz on the Iranian border. Fighting stopped this evening. There are casualties and fatalities among Taliban, several sources in Nimroz province including doctors at a hospital tells me.

“At least 3 Taliban soldiers killed and at least 11 Iranian border guards killed in clashes between Taliban soldiers and Iranian border guards.” A trader, a doctor and a tribal elder in Nimroz tells me.

#AFG At least 12 bodies hanged in various squares in Jalalabad- Farm Hadda, base Chowk and Nehar- Ghara, eye witnesses and residents tells me.
At least 2 people hanged in Saracha PD7, Jalalabad city. A deadly string of assassinations, executions, beheadings and targeted killings continue in Jalalabad city and across Ningarhar province and further east in Kunar province. A bloodbath. Image

#AFG Taliban minister of higher education Abdul baqi haqani has said in a meeting with university delegates "we should give teachers to the schools to train our future generation on a value that we can trust on them and we can expect from them." he added "all the school
products of the last 20 years are not in a level that we can expect them anything, there is no expectation from them" he further said that next generation should be trained from primary schools to the end with the expectation the Taliban has from the students. What expectations?

1/7- The Taliban’s new Minister of Telecommunications has dismissed the head of Afghanistan Telecom Regulatory Authority (ATRA) and appointed himself as its caretaker.
2/7-Ministry of Telecommunications was given to Dr. Abdullah as part of power sharing deal with Ghani. But Ghani gradually rendered the ministry useless by transferring all its authority to ATRA.
3/7-ATRA was responsive to NO institution but to the DG of the office of the President, which had tasked it to extort as much money as possible from the Afghan telecom industry.
