Siddhivinayak temple trust has come out with an app for online booking of darshan in Covid times. If you want to visit, prior online booking is mandatory. Of course like all govt controlled temples, there’s a scam going on in online darshan too. Read this thread. 1/n
This Sunday, I went to Siddhivinayak temple with some relatives. When we reached there, a man standing outside one of the flower shops approached us and said that darshan was only possible with prior online booking. But he could get us in immediately, for a fee of course. 2/n
Not believing him, I downloaded the app and logged in after creating my new ID. But it showed all slots full. The man said he could get all ten of us in through the app (maximum 2 per phone are allowed) but he would charge 300 per person. Here’s where it gets interesting. 3/n
Five of us were asked to hand our respective mobiles. The man and his sidekick quickly got into action and within seconds, I saw this on my phone. Darshan confirmed. All five devices got the confirmation within a couple of minutes and we all got the darshan ticket. 4/n
I had an idea how this scam was pulled off, and so have kept the login of the person on my device to expose the modus operandi. This is how it’s done. These people block all available slots in advance through various fake IDs. So no slots are available for genuine devotees. 5/n
This is the fake account through which the slot was blocked (obviously the persons name isn’t really Siddhivinayak). So remember folks, if you’re not getting a slot for darshan at Siddhivinayak, chances are the local touts outside the temple have already blocked all of them. 6/6

Buckle up for a great story. 🙂
For many years, SBI Odisha kept writing to the state govt that an urn with the ashes of Mahatma Gandhi were lying unclaimed in their locker in Cuttack. Eventually they got tired and stopped. And then in 1994, things suddenly blew up.
🧵 1/n
In 1994, Gopal Godse, Nathuram
Godse’s brother, requested Odisha government to hand over the urn containing Gandhi’s ashes so that his and Nathuram’s ashes could be dispersed in the Sindhu together once Akhand Bharat was restored. It obviously led to uproar. 2/n
Tushar Gandhi then approached the Supreme Court to claim the ashes. SBI produced documents to show that it was deposited by Secretary to Odisa CM in Cuttack branch of SBI with a note of being the ashes of Mahatma Gandhi. 3/n
Ambedkar in Rajya Sabha, 1955:
“ I said that I wanted to burn the Constitution.. The reason is this: We built a temple for god to come in and reside, but before the god could be installed, if the devil had taken possession of it, what else could we do except destroy the temple?” 1/n
“We did not intend that it should be occupied by the Asuras. We intended it to be occupied by the Devas. That’s the reason why I said I would rather like to burn it.”
- Dr BR Ambedkar in the Rajya Sabha on 19 March 1955. But who was Ambedkar calling “asuras”, and why? 2/n
Ambedkar was opposing the 4th amendment to the constitution, by which the right to due compensation on acquisition of property by govt was taken away and put out of judicial review. This amendment was used by Cong to enrich themselves and their favourite businessmen. 3/n
Congress needs a better CA as the present one seems to be as incompetent as the party leadership. Short thread with screenshots of the court judgment. The matter goes back to 2019 when congress failed to file its IT returns in time, due to which its income became taxable. 1/n
A large number of people “donated” cash amounts in excess of 2000/-. As per law any donation above 2000/- in cash is disallowed. So congress showed it as “voluntary contribution” which has cash limit of 20k. But sadly for them, courts have held earlier that this is taxable. 2/n
The matter goes back to 2019. First demand was raised in 2021. Congress slept over it until 2023. Even worse, three notices for final hearing and disposal were given and the congress requested adjournment in all three. Even 20% of disputed amount sought by ITAT was not paid. 3/n
My daughter was defrauded on @bookingcom on 16th Jan while blocking a hotel room for a friend. She got a notification from the hotel through the app, asking for card confirmation which is a usual practice on the app. On giving the card details, Rs. 94693 was instantly swiped.
Minutes later, the hotel mails her saying their account was compromised and that knew about it but did nothing. She immediately realised the fraud and called @bookingcom . She was assured of refund by the operator. booking.com
It’s been almost a month now, and @bookingcom are now not responding and haven’t refunded the amount either. A cyber crime complaint has also been registered. The notification came through the app itself and from the hotels own account. Hence they will be the accused in the FIR.
This “liver doctor” claims the ranitidine causing cancer controversy is because of an impurity and not ranitidine. But the fact is, the potentially carcinogenic agent, NDMA, is a direct degradation product of ranitidine itself and not just an impurity.
This has been known for some time now. Pharma companies are trying different formulations to retard or prevent degradation of ranitidine into NDMA. But success hasn’t been achieved till date. Ranitidine is inevitably going to have to be withdrawn from the market.
Also, it is dishonest to claim dhanwantharam gulika contains any “civet cat semen” or “baby elephant feces” because while the ancient verse does list these as ingredients, none of the modern preparations contain them. Civet cat is in fact listed as protected species in India.
Have you ever heard the names of these young freedom fighters, all aged between 21 and 25, who were tried and executed by the British? If not, don’t be sad: you’re one of 99.999% citizens of Bharat who don’t.
Thread follows soon.
These brave soldiers were from the 4th Madras Coastal Defence
Battery of the British Army and were among a dozen 'rebels' arrested on April 18, 1943, on charges of “acting against the Government and obstructing and/or adversely affecting the war efforts”.
The British intelligence got news that these soldiers were planning “sabotage, incendiarism wherever
possible, tampering with the loyalty of the forces by trying to
cause desertions and encouraging tensions and rivalries amongst
soldiers housed in army barracks.”
