I use the word "grift" to describe self-proclaimed "experts" who refuse to retract and issue corrections, despite being laughably wrong. This base motive is especially pronounced when said "experts" are men being corrected by women who are actual experts.
Referring to Dave misreading the NYT yesterday and assuming Dr. Donovan does not know that disinformation is Actually very old and something something Koch Brothers? 🤷🏻♀️
Per the screenshot he tweeted, she traces the **modern** practice of disinformation (not all disinformation).
Also referring to this lovely interaction with the recently suspended Mr. Stewartson where he tweeted a ridiculous claim from a ridiculous blog and was corrected by @abbieasr and myself and not only refused to retract but blocked me.
He literally called Donovan's expertise "misinformation about disinformation" and the rest of what he implied in his ridiculous thread was very clear, including floating a conspiracy theory about grants that happened 5 years before TASC existed "perhaps" being "a factor"
Bye 👋
Oh there was also his insanely viral thread about Parler being a Russian plot or some nonsense and @chick_in_kiev corrected him and he doubled down. I can't find the original viral tweet now b/c I blocked him and am logging off but it was ridiculous. 🙄
I made an account after reading this last January to see firsthand what the “gamification” was like. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
I didn’t -and never intended to- buy or sell a single stock.
They give you a free stock when you sign up and I later learned that you can’t close your account until you sell the free stock. 🙄So I contacted customer service on Jan 25 and told them to take their free stock back and close my account. They confirmed they did it on Jan 26.
I don't think Sean Moon was on Scavo's buses. Mainly because he's loaded 💸 and probably had his own ride or flew there but also because I remembered I took screenshots of Scavo's (now deleted) FB live video when the buses arrived in DC and Moon is not there.
There is something very wrong with this Facebook page and it's not the first time I've seen a Facebook page like this. They post videos of animals in distress with subtitles and sad music and then rescue them. The grammar and narrative is always a bit odd.
This Facebook page changed names several times. IDK if there were previous posts that were deleted but there have been 54 videos posted since July. The first video was... weird. facebook.com/catloveroffici…
1 month later and the page was posting very different content. Some people in the comments seem to have noticed that there is something wrong with the video, which was also my impression. facebook.com/10984949706872…
Watch a Dodo video and eventually FB will show you one of these.
“As internal documents reveal, Google sought to kill competition and has done so through an array of exclusionary tactics, including an unlawful agreement with Facebook, it's largest potential competitive threat, to manipulate advertising actions."
There were calls to violence and genocidal language circulating on all social media platforms long before and leading up to the 2020 *pogroms* (not riots) activists had been sounding alarms for months.
