Yes -- that may sound alarming. Here's what you need to know about it:
-The current rule is temporary. It can't be in place more than 180 days.
-Making the rule permanent allows the state to keep the rule.
-The rule can be repealed.

So what does the RAC do?
FROM OHA:
"The purpose of the RAC meeting is to seek input from committee members on the rules, including the projected burden & fiscal impact of the rules & suggestions for alternative language."
They give feedback on what should(n't) be in the ruling

And again, for those who missed it, yes, if this becomes a formal rule it’s technically a permanent rule… but it can be repealed. And stakeholders did bring up today how having an end date may be good. There is SO much discussion to be had before any rule is adopted.
And even more on the repealing thing, another part of RAC meeting today was discussion about making parts or all of the rules easily repealable as covid situation improves. Again, for the sake of my mention notifications (😩), let’s not all freak out now. It isn’t a rule yet.
