The same manner Allah would question us about our Salat, Fasting & other dealings of worship, so He would question us about the rights our wives have over us.
Her rights to feeding, right to companionship, rights to accommodation, right to sexual satisfaction,
rights to education, rights to happiness, & any other right.
It is possible that someone would scale through in the aspects of his Salat, Fasting, Hajj but go to hellfire if he fails to satisfy the rights of the wife. Do you remember the Hadith of Al-Muflis (The Bankrupt?)
Imam Muslim narrated via the way of Abu Hurayra “that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said:
‘Do you know who the muflis (bankrupt) is?’ They said: ‘The muflis among us is the one without a dirham (or money).’
He (SAW) said:
‘The muflis in my Ummah is the one who comes on the Day of Judgement with prayer, fasting and zakat (all complete). However, he'd come with the offense of insulting Mr. A, falsely accusing Mr. B, eaten the wealth of Mr. C, split the blood of Mr. D,
has struck Mr. E. (So what happens?) His good deeds would be given to these people he has wronged. If, at the end of this Judgement his good deeds have finished before settling them, the sins of those whom he hurt are transferred into his account, & he is thrown into the Fire.”
Source: Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2581.
If as a husband, despite your Salat & Fasting, but you are cruel & wicked to your wife, be rest assured that Allah, the Most Just, would pay you on the day of Judgement with what you deserve.
May Allaah make us the best husbands to our wives.

Do you still start your day with social media before you recite the Qur'an? Are you in the habit of picking your phone first & browsing through messages before you even pray Fajr, make morning Azkar & recite the Glorious Qur’an?
Change the habit. Let the most important things
come first. Those that are less important can come later.
Do you know that the fastest way to receive Allah's Rahma is via the recitation of the Quran?
Imam al-Laithi (RH) was reported to have said:
There's nobody who receives blessing faster than one listening the Quran.
He then said: This is just a listener. What do you think about the person reciting it? And what about that person who has even memorized it? Then think about the blessings received by the one pondering over its meanings, then also think about he who put the teachings into work.
Immediately after NYSC, just before I picked my first Job, I asked my Dad to loan me N1, 000,000 to start business of buying & selling grains from Udawa Market to Buruku, to Birnin Gwari weekly markets. He was surprised that I could think in that direction. He gave me the money.
I made a second class upper degree in Petroleum Engineering, & among the top 4 in my class. Yet, I decided to look for a way to take my responsibility off the shoulders of my parent whom have trained me tirelessly from Nursery to 1st degree. I started the business as planned.
Five weeks later, I got my first job & decided to give him back his money. He didn't collect anything from me, & that became a gift from he, & a show of appreciation for my initiative. I later used that money to get married 😁.
What remains painful is, years after what have we done as a people, and as Northern elites to address this menace? Is it right to say that so far, no Nigerian leader has expressed genuine concern over this killer issue than has done GEJ?
Ironically, bulk of the attention the Almajiri issue has received has come from quarters we least expect. If you look at it closely, the issue affects the Northern Muslims most, yet the most attentions come from people outside that denomination. For instance,
The prevalence of soot in Port Harcourt is, as a matter of urgency, a national emergency that requires the attention of the govt, at state & federal level. The oil rich state is in the midst of a terrible environmental crisis that if not handled will affect the lives of many.
The existence of illegal refineries, pipeline vandalization, burning of tyres in abattoirs have presented a life threatening situation through the release of black carbon emission that is gradually replacing the oxygen people live on.
A study has estimated that for every increase, of 10 micrograms per cubic meter in fine particulate air pollution, there is an associated 4% increase in all-cause, 6% increase in cardiopulmonary and 8% increase in lung cancer mortality. This isn't funny at all.
That you don't pray Salāt as at when due, or some don't do at all, freely drink alcohol & fornicate at will, do nija bet & care less about the rulings of Allāh doesn't make you a liberal Muslim. Leaving Salāt can take you out of Islam, while the others make
you a sinful Muslim. There's nothing like 'liberal Muslim' or a 'non practising Muslim'. If you are not practising, why do you still call your self a Muslim.
Dear Sister,
That you don't use the Hijab, you wear weavons, attach hair, nails & expose your body, drink or freely
fornicate doesn't make you a 'liberal Muslim' either. If you don't pray Salat, you are likely out of Islām already. If you do the others, you are sinning against Allāh, depending on the gravity of the sin. Covering your body & using Hijab ain't options. It is compulsory for you.
The challenges bedevilling the North is a historical jigsaw comprising the consequent hegemonic ambitions of a few. Let us examine ourselves, as regional or religious leaders, as administrators or Technocrats, sons & daughters of the North.
In fitting this the jigsaw together, ofcourse looking at the complexity of the social & security challenges holding us by our necks, talking alone cannot see us through, we need actions that have what it takes to take us through a successful ride. The issue of us having problem
is not even contested by anyone. The contestable issue is, who do we turn to? And what do we do?
The art of apportioning blame is the easiest thing to do. I can simply wake up & say, Mr. A is responsible, or Malam B, or Chief C for the rot in our society. It is that easy.
