I won't share that Massie gun fetish tweet, but I will say that the right is trying not only to normalize, but to glorify violence as a political tool. Tweeting "Santa, please bring ammo" immediately after a would-be school shooter gets identified EXPRESSLY because he was...
caught searching for ammo on his phone in class isn't an accident, it's an intentional strategy to bombard us with violence until it's no longer shocking-- until it's normalized. Republicans applaud the insurrectionists as freedom warriors, they applaud Rittenhouse as a hero...
they applaud Ashli Babbitt as a martyr, they applaud Lauren Boebert's open Islamophobia even though it puts @IlhanMN's life at risk. This is a strategy to convince their supporters that violence is acceptable. And just like they resorted to violence after the Big Lie of 2020,
this is clearly part of a coordinated campaign to do it again in 2022 & 2024 if they lose. That's why ALL of this is coupled with more bogus election "audits," more stolen election rhetoric, more "voter integrity" laws, more purging of nonpartisan officials. It goes hand in hand.
Pretending like this is no big deal or burying our heads in the sand won't do anything to lower the temperature; it'll only leave us unprepared when more violence is inevitably born out of this. Willful ignorance is doing nothing to curb a trend that is boiling over on the right.
The media needs to stop pretending this is politics as usual, and the non-lunatic Republicans need to start putting the future of this country above their fear of a mean Trump press release. Or we'll look back at this moment wondering why we didn't step up when we had the chance.

BREAKING: Stephanie Murphy will not run for US Senate against Marco Rubio in Florida, citing the need for Dems to avoid an expensive and bruising primary. Looking like consolidated support for Democrat Val Demings in 2022.
Our number one priority is building our infrastructure and registering voters. This fund is for the 8 states with the closest Senate races in 2022 - including FLORIDA - and focuses on doing the groundwork *now* when it’ll make the biggest difference.
We're $150 away from hitting $30,000. For just the cost of lunch, you can help support 8 amazing organizations that are on the ground registering new voters. If you want your money to go the farthest, give it to the people out there now knocking on doors, texting, calling, etc.
By gambling away the 10/15 debate, Trump shot himself in the foot. And no, holding a rally instead won't come close to compensating for losing a debate. Speaking just as a news CONSUMER, Trump's rallies are boring now. They didn't used to be; I used to hang on his every word....
But they've devolved into the same desperate, recycled, maniacal Fox News fever dream talking points. In effect, by showcasing this reality show circus every day for four years, the sheen has worn off. No one is going to watch yet another Trump rally where he whines about...
Hillary's emails and water pressure and the deep state and killer windmills and slippery ramps and "lovebirds" Peter and Lisa and the rest of his greatest hits. It's old news. It's tired. He failed to adapt. The debates were his last chance to actually make his case to people...
Obama fought WWII but was forced to concede defeat because of the pandemic of 1917 and since then the cupboards have been bare. They couldn't even test for it because there weren't any tests. All the while our soldiers didn't have any bullets. No bullets. Could you imagine? No bu
And no water. You buy a new house and the water doesn't work but Trump has fixed that. New water but old lightbulbs. The new bulbs explode. We want college football. The players want to play. They say, "Sir--" and they're crying. You've never seen men cry like this. "Sir, we must
We won the Revolutionary War by taking the airports. We took the airports. And we had the biggest hurricanes, from the standpoint of wetness and water. So much wet. But that's what many people say. He's stuck in the basement. You have to wonder why. Person man woman camer
The thing about the sabotaging of the USPS is that we EXPECT this authoritarian bullshit from Trump, but we also haven’t heard a single fucking word of pushback from the rest of the GOP.
The USPS is literally enshrined in the Consititution, but Republicans are more than content to let it fail because these “Constitutionalists” don’t actually give a shit about the Constitution, they *only* care about holding onto power, by any means necessary.
Just like the GOP pretended to care about “family values,” only to rally behind a guy who broke campaign finance laws by using campaign funds to pay out the porn stars he fucked while his wife was waiting at home— PREGNANT WITH THEIR SON.
BREAKING: Postmaster General Louis DeJoy displaces the two top executives overseeing day-to-day operations, and reassigns 23 more postal executives, centralizing power around himself as delays grow at USPS ahead of mostly vote-by-mail election. washingtonpost.com/business/2020/…
Congressional Democrats need to do something about this TODAY. If we wait until October/November, it'll be too late. Trump is actively sabotaging the election under our noses-- this isn't theoretical, it's happening RIGHT NOW.
Use inherent contempt powers to bring DeJoy to testify (now, not in 6 weeks). Pass legislation codifying timely mail delivery (even if that means paying overtime), include USPS funding in the next relief bill (non-negotiable). This is a fucking five-alarm fire- what’s being done?
HOLY SHIT. Per @BrianSimsPA, in PA's state legislature, GOP leadership HID the fact that a Republican tested positive for COVID and yet still interacted with Democratic members, who then went back home to their families, likely exposing their loved ones. And the Republicans KNEW.
Not only that, but just months ago, @BrianSimsPA had quietly donated a kidney to a neighbor dying of renal failure. He's immunocompromised. He could lose his life because Republicans didn't want to UNDERMINE THEIR OWN TALKING POINTS BY ADMITTING THAT A GOP MEMBER TESTED POSITIVE.
.@BrianSimsPA: "Holy shit. It’s not your business to put my life at risk. It’s not your business to put the lives of the CHILDREN of our members at risk-- of the SPOUSES of our members at risk."
