Andrew's been kind to me when we've spoken, so I say this respectfully. If you're using this moment, wherein we're teetering on the brink of autocracy, to perpetuate rightwing talking about Biden's age, you are helping usher in the very future you claim to want to avoid (cont'd) There's this cognitive dissonance in which Joe Biden is supposedly too old to do the job... that he's literally excelling at *right now.* The most jobs ever added in a single term. The stock market at a record high. Consumer sentiment surging. Wage growth exceeding inflation...

🧀 CHEDDAR STORM: In 12 DAYS Wisconsin voters will vote in the biggest election of 2023-- the WI Supreme Court race. Everything is at stake-- from abortion rights to fair maps. Let’s raise $100,000 by MIDNIGHT to fuel these last few days and win this race. wisdems.org/cheddar Wisconsin’s current Supreme Court has a 4-3 rightwing majority. They just barely allowed Joe Biden’s electoral victory in Wisconsin to stand in 2020, and they’ve sided with the right in their decisions— like banning drop boxes and choosing hyper-partisan gerrymandered maps.

Can't wait to hear about how the Trump administration rolled back safety measures for railways, like regular safety audits and an Obama-era rule that required faster brakes on trains carrying flammable materials to prevent derailments and explosions. About how... Trump ended a pending rule that would’ve required freight trains to have at least two crew members. About how Republicans urged the Federal Railroad Administration to expand the use of automated track inspection in the place of visual human inspections. About how...

Republicans offer up lip service about veterans and then vote against funding for veterans suffering from illnesses related to burn pit exposures.

Republicans blame Democrats for (worldwide) inflation and then vow to block a reconciliation bill intended to reduce inflation. Republicans wail about China and then whip votes against the CHIPS Act, which will make us competitive with China.

Republicans crow about family values and then coddle guys accused of affairs, sexual assault, child sex trafficking, and pedophilia (Trump, Greitens, Gaetz, Moore).

I won't share that Massie gun fetish tweet, but I will say that the right is trying not only to normalize, but to glorify violence as a political tool. Tweeting "Santa, please bring ammo" immediately after a would-be school shooter gets identified EXPRESSLY because he was... caught searching for ammo on his phone in class isn't an accident, it's an intentional strategy to bombard us with violence until it's no longer shocking-- until it's normalized. Republicans applaud the insurrectionists as freedom warriors, they applaud Rittenhouse as a hero...

BREAKING: Stephanie Murphy will not run for US Senate against Marco Rubio in Florida, citing the need for Dems to avoid an expensive and bruising primary. Looking like consolidated support for Democrat Val Demings in 2022. Our number one priority is building our infrastructure and registering voters. This fund is for the 8 states with the closest Senate races in 2022 - including FLORIDA - and focuses on doing the groundwork *now* when it’ll make the biggest difference.

By gambling away the 10/15 debate, Trump shot himself in the foot. And no, holding a rally instead won't come close to compensating for losing a debate. Speaking just as a news CONSUMER, Trump's rallies are boring now. They didn't used to be; I used to hang on his every word.... But they've devolved into the same desperate, recycled, maniacal Fox News fever dream talking points. In effect, by showcasing this reality show circus every day for four years, the sheen has worn off. No one is going to watch yet another Trump rally where he whines about...

Obama fought WWII but was forced to concede defeat because of the pandemic of 1917 and since then the cupboards have been bare. They couldn't even test for it because there weren't any tests. All the while our soldiers didn't have any bullets. No bullets. Could you imagine? No bu And no water. You buy a new house and the water doesn't work but Trump has fixed that. New water but old lightbulbs. The new bulbs explode. We want college football. The players want to play. They say, "Sir--" and they're crying. You've never seen men cry like this. "Sir, we must

The thing about the sabotaging of the USPS is that we EXPECT this authoritarian bullshit from Trump, but we also haven’t heard a single fucking word of pushback from the rest of the GOP. The USPS is literally enshrined in the Consititution, but Republicans are more than content to let it fail because these “Constitutionalists” don’t actually give a shit about the Constitution, they *only* care about holding onto power, by any means necessary.

BREAKING: Postmaster General Louis DeJoy displaces the two top executives overseeing day-to-day operations, and reassigns 23 more postal executives, centralizing power around himself as delays grow at USPS ahead of mostly vote-by-mail election.
washingtonpost.com/business/2020/… Congressional Democrats need to do something about this TODAY. If we wait until October/November, it'll be too late. Trump is actively sabotaging the election under our noses-- this isn't theoretical, it's happening RIGHT NOW.

HOLY SHIT. Per @BrianSimsPA, in PA's state legislature, GOP leadership HID the fact that a Republican tested positive for COVID and yet still interacted with Democratic members, who then went back home to their families, likely exposing their loved ones. And the Republicans KNEW. Not only that, but just months ago, @BrianSimsPA had quietly donated a kidney to a neighbor dying of renal failure. He's immunocompromised. He could lose his life because Republicans didn't want to UNDERMINE THEIR OWN TALKING POINTS BY ADMITTING THAT A GOP MEMBER TESTED POSITIVE.

@realDonaldTrump How many trademarks has Ivanka been granted so far from China? How much taxpayer money has been spent on security costs for Don Jr and Eric on overseas trips for Trump Org business? What qualifies Giuliani's son to get paid nearly $100k a year to serve as the WH sports liaison? @realDonaldTrump Why is the RNC able to spend nearly $100k on a bulk order for Don Jr's new book? What about the Trump Organization's $100 million in real estate sales despite "no new deals" while Trump's in office? Why can Ivanka use an RNC speech to hawk her branded products?

The niece of Christine O’Donnell, a Republican who ran against Biden for the Senate, alleged that he sexually harassed her at UDel's Gridiron Dinner in 2008.

But Biden didn't attend in 2008. He was getting surgery.

Then she said it was 2007.

Biden was in Iowa that day in 2007. I'm sorry but are we just supposed to keep letting her guess random years in the mid-2000s until she finally lands on one where Biden was actually in the same state where the allegations occurred?

Never in history has a response been so botched at every single stage.

Trump eliminated every major government position that dealt with pandemic preparation and ordered the NSC’s entire global health security unit shut down. He then proposed a 19% budget CUT to the CDC.

THREAD/ Trump declined the WHO tests that were available in FEBRUARY and sent to 60(!) other countries, opting instead to let the CDC create its own test. We've barely deployed more than 11,000 tests, while experts believe 50,000+ Americans are infected & unknowingly spreading the virus.

Look, Trump's moral and political and social depravity is no secret. But these last few weeks have made me sick to my stomach. Because I look at my grandparents who are in their 80s and if they get coronavirus, I am horrified to think what would happen. 1/ And because Trump declined the WHO tests that were ready in FEBRUARY, allowing it to spread unimpeded, they're at greater risk.

Because Trump was so focused on downplaying the threat so he could prop up the MARKETS and salvage a talking point, they're at greater risk.

I know the coronavirus isn't Trump's fault.

What's Trump's fault is declining to use the WHO test like other nations, instead letting the CDC produce its own test, the delay for which allowed carriers to spread the virus for months without knowing who was infected-- to this day! What's Trump's fault is firing Tim Ziemer, the Sr. Director of Global Health Security at the National Security Council, before ordering the NSC’s entire global health security unit shut down.

Ziemer was never replaced.
