2. The "teacher loyalty" bill would prohibit, in most circumstances, "any doctrine or theory promoting a negative account or representation of the founding and history of the U.S."
This includes "teaching that the United States was founded on racism"
4. The only problem with this "solution" is that it's completely ahistorical.
The 3/5ths provision conferred additional political power to states with large slave populations. In so doing, it helped entrench the institution of slavery.
6. Teachers are prohibited from any " negative account or representation of the founding and history of the U.S." unless they include "the worldwide context of now outdated and discouraged practices"
Long before slavery was abolished in the United States (1865), it was abolished in other countries, including Spain (1811), Mexico (1829), Britain (1834), and France (1848).
10. Keep in mind, this bill is being proposed after New Hampshire already enacted one anti-CRT bill that exposes teachers to disciplinary action for saying the wrong thing about white privilege (and other topics) in class.
11. A constellation of dark money groups released an open letter last week urging states to pass anti-CRT bills to ban "any idea that violates the Civil Rights Act of 1964"
1. In 2021 a slew of dark-money groups were formed to drive opposition to Critical Race Theory. They are organized as non-profits, which means their donors can stay secret.
But the public is entitled to some information about these groups, including how they spend their money
2. The problem, however, is that the disclosure system for non-profits is a joke. Organizations formed in January 2021 or later don't have to file their first 990 until NOVEMBER 2022.
There is really no justification for this.
3. Even once November 2022 hits, the 990 isn't automatically made public. Instead, you have to REQUEST the document from the organization. You used to be able to show up at an office and get it on the spot. But with COVID, that's pretty much impossible
1. Bought him a 9mm Sig Sauer SP 2022 pistol as a present on Black Friday
2. When a teacher caught him searching for ammunition of his phone, his mom texted: "LOL I'm not mad at you. You have to learn not to get caught."
3. When his teacher found a note saying "help me," “The thoughts won’t stop" and and "blood everywhere," his parents refused to send him to counseling or send him home
4. His mom texted "Ethan don't do it" and his dad reported the gun missing AFTER the shooting was reported
5. The parents have been charged with involuntary manslaughter but, as of right now, have "gone missing."
According to the NYT, "the county’s fugitive-apprehension team, F.B.I. agents and United States Marshals were looking for the couple"
3. In deleted tweets from August 2020 obtained by popular.info, Steenman said she would "never" send her kids to public schools and described public school teachers as "brainwashing assholes."
1. As the 2022 games near, the International Olympic Committee (@Olympics) are in "active collaboration with Chinese authorities" to coverup the censoring and disappearance of Peng Shuai, the tennis star who accused a top Chinese politician of rape
@Olympics 2. Complicit in all of this are the 14 primary Olympic sponsors. Despite requests for comment, all the sponsors have remained silent on the IOC, the Chinese government and Peng.
