India has acquired the S400 to evade any future insult it faced after their plane was shot down by JF17 in Feb 2019. This system is even capable of taking down F35. This deal will increase the already sky-rocketing arms race in this region as Pakistan has already its eyes on
The Chinese HQ-16 Missile Defense System and its advancements. Moreover, Pakistan’s ABM warheads have mid course changing ability which allows it to evade Missile Defense Systems as they can’t predict its path.
As a consequence, Turkey will now have moral justification to buy S400, whereas, Russia, now, will not shy off from selling it in Asia.
With the Ukranian and Taiwan issue on the table, US must condemn this move of India to maintain the balance of power.
A lesson for US allies at the end: Turkey once allowed US to place their US PGM-19 Jupiter Nuclear armed ballistic missiles in Izmir in 1961 because it suited US. Today, they aren’t allowing Turkey to buy S400 despite being a NATO country has denied them F35, as well.
