Hon Mulimba: Following the opening of resident missions in each other's capitals in 2010 and 2011, the relationship between Uganda and Türkiye has grown from strength to strength.
Hon Mulimba: The relations between the two countries are regulated by cooperation frameworks in the areas which include Trade and Tourism, Military and Defense, Security, Energy, Education, and Parliamentary democracy.
In her welcome remarks, Her Excellency Nusura Tiperu Omar welcomed the guests to the coffee tasting/cupping session and highlighted that Coffee is one of Uganda’s main cash crops and the biggest foreign exchange earner being among the top five products exported from Uganda.
Coffee accounts for about 13-15% of total export earnings and is the second highest foreign exchange earner for the country.
Amb. Tiperu reiterated that this event underscoring that the event is in line Ministry / Embassy’s policy to promote commercial and Economic diplomacy to enhance bilateral trade between Uganda and Turkey.
