Let’s not forget that we made a list of dishonest brokers in the news game weeks before this shit with Politico blew up.

I believe my noted bad media sources and personalities were Chris Cilizza, CNN, and Politico. (Correct me if I’m wrong, I may not have listed all 3)

I said we needed our own media and a way to pay small, independent outlets and bloggers and podcasters for their work. I stand by this.

It’s weird that we don’t have Uber rich Dems willing to fund media that they cannot control.

Uber rich Dems need to step the fuck up NOW.

We will never win as long as our information networks are controlled by white men. White men, on average, are the largest and most likely group to ID as Republicans. It benefits them to control the messaging of both parties and the media we consume. They also have the most money.

When people don’t see their lived experience reflected in the mainstream media, they tend to tune it out and seek information elsewhere. This is why the right wing news media is big business, and why the general media is considered Liberal. Facts have a Liberal bias.

Leftist media tends to take Liberal ideas and run so far with them that those ideas become an absurdist parody of themselves. And example of this is how Liberals believe racism causes unfair sentencing & disparity. We promote correction. Leftists often promote prison abolition.

While we’re busy trying to correct cases of innocent people being convicted or extreme sentence disparities, the right wing highlights victims of aberrant or abnormal crimes, then point to leftist and accuse Democrats of wanting to set murderers of (white) women & children free.

The media reports the leftist and rightist position as the choices on the table. We are then forced to defend ourselves (a losing position) or come down hard on criminals in an unnuanced and bias prone manner.
Our actual message is ignored in the media and unheard by the people.

This happens with everything from Free School Lunch to Cop Killings.

As the media has become leftist in response to the rise of Bernie and the Squad due to the hiring of so many “Progressives”, the leftist position has tended to be labeled as the mainstream Democrat viewpoint.

This is why “Defund the Police” has been so bad for the Democratic Party and has been tied to us as if it is a position held by most Democrats.

Democrats are often scared to push back against these extreme leftist slogans and positions for fear of being accused of bigotry or bias, because leftists often use various oppressed or disadvantaged groups as human shields by acting as if they speak for/represent these groups.

It’s one of the more infuriating things they do.

They’ll conflate Black with Poor and then go on to act as if they themselves represent the best interests of both groups. Having the squad as visual representation of the supposed diversity of the far left helps them convince people of their legitimacy.

But…

Most Black People and poor people do not agree with them at all.

Take “Defund the Police” again, for example.

It was never a majority position among any group, but it has often been reported like it’s a position of Democrats.

The media is fucking hysterical.

And our politicians are forced to answer dumb ass questions based on bullshit manufactured by the fuckkng DSA or JDs to divide Democrats so they can take over our party.

It’s fucking bullshit, it’s transparent as fuck, yet we have no way to combat it at the fuck all.

We are going to continue to lose winnable races for the foreseeable future.

Our ideas are nuanced and often complex.

We have to constantly guard against the right simply opposing everything we do, and the far left helping them by giving them examples of left wing Batshittery.

It hurts us with voters that show up the most and helps us with voters who don’t bother to show up.

We need to get better messages out to the voters.
