Meadows throws the kitchen sink:

- Committee lacks legislative purpose
- Committee violating executive privilege
- Committee is structurally flawed
- Subpoena for Verizon records is improper

Trump has lodged many of these arguments in his own suit.

He's a Trump appointee but not an easy judge to typecast.

BREAKING: The appeals court has DENIED Trump’s effort to stop the Jan. 6 committee from getting his White House records.
The court says it would be hard-pressed to tell a sitting president — Biden — that his judgment about what’s in the best interests of the United States is wrong.

But it says Trump’s effort fails on every other test as well.

NEW: Mark Meadows may not have "properly" stored all Trump era records with the National Archives, the agency indicated Thursday.

It comes as the Jan. 6 committee raised concerns about whether his records were all turned over.

JAN. 6 COMMITTEE UPDATES: Chairman Bennie Thompson had a lot to say tonight — on the work of the panel, on Mark Meadows, on Mike Pence and on his approach to the committee's final report. Some details:
-The committee has not had any "direct engagement" with former Vice President Mike Pence yet. "We will be talking to the Secret Service about what they did on that day to protect the vice president. We think that’s important for the report."
-He's still hopeful Meadows cooperates with the Jan. 6 committee but that criminal contempt was just "one option" among several the committee could pursue to pressure him if he doesn't show up for a deposition on Wednesday. "The goal is to get information from Mr. Meadows."
