It's a call I received from my friend with connections to employees at Yala sub County hospital 🏥. She called me terrified and confused as someone expecting a miraculous action from her last option. #YalaRiverDeaths

Every after 2 or three days, a body is recovered from the River. The recovery is done by village experts ritually talented with the expertise to exhume submerged bodies. The experts are believed to be hired by either Vihiga County or DCI men... #RiverYalaDeaths

This is because, the bodies are driven to the Hospital Mortuary in a police vehicle. The bodies are labelled unknown and less than two weeks ago, they were buried in a mass County grave as unclaimed and unknown bodies... #RiverYalaDeaths

The bodies are entirely of male young adults probably in their thirties. According to her, most of the bodies are exhumed attached to a heavy load depicting that they were dumped with intentions to remain sunk in the notorious river... #RiverYalaDeaths

Her concern arose when the previous unidentified bodies were buried in a mass after being in the mortuary for a long time unattended. No postmortem is done on this bodies because probably no one is claiming them locally... #RiverYalaDeaths

This means either the bodies are murdered elsewhere and dumped in the river or are dragged by the overflowing waters of River Yala. They are unclaimed because Locally they don't tally any description of any missing persons. Non of the bodies seem Luhya... #RiverYalaDeaths

Notably according to her is the seemingly well dressed young man who was brought in the mortuary on Monday. The body had several identification marks including a wedding ring on the ring finger and 🇰🇪 bracelet; that can be used to identify the "unknown " body. #RiverYalaDeaths

The news on recovered bodies are sometimes partially announced through a local vernacular radio station. News that cannot yield results as the bodies appear from as far as coastal counties. She believes the information cannot reach anyone outside Yala... #RiverYalaDeaths

The body exhumation personel are believed to be having information on several submerged bodies under River Yala that if were all to be identified, would be responsible for a good percentage of missing persons countrywide... #RiverYalaDeaths

The locally broadcasted news. Mass unclaimed body's burial and lack of postmortem conducted by the hospital, coupled with no formal investigations carried out by the Yala police station is a clear indication that several missing loved ones may never be recovered

I may have hurriedly omitted much in this thread but I urge authorities to investigate this starting from the over 17 male bodies currently labelled unknown in Yala Sub County hospital awaiting a mass burial. Most of the bodies are too fresh... #RiverYalaDeaths

Looks like all the missing persons in your area may just be in a mortuary somewhere in Yala Sub County Hospital, under the waters of River Yala or in a mass grave in Vihiga County. #RiverYalaDeaths
