1- Ok this is dumb.

2- There is a difference between taking COVID seriously & vaccine skepticism.

@DLeonhardt and his ilk can't even see this, much less acknowledge it; even as the call for more & more boosters borders on comical.

3- Mask skepticism is another case of following data that shows no value in stopping transmission.

If anyone believes differetly, refute the hundreds of graphs @ianmSC publishes every month showing transmission unfazed time & again by mask mandates. I'll wait.

4- Not to mention the downside of masks, which is acknowledged in the article but taken as an article of faith it's a price we must pay.

Because reasons. Or something.

5- This graph should have told the author a lot. But there was no introspection.

Republicans are less likely to comply like sheep to interventions that fail time & again to move the dial. And they're happier in their decisions.

There's your story.

6- This entire article is a PR piece trying to make the case the economy is great but doesn't feel that way because Republicans don't take COVID seriously. Or something.

Perhaps @nytimes should stop spinning & ask @POTUS about his broken promises.
