It's the end of week 6 and I wanted to do another thread sharing 4 mental tips that helped me. You need to find a good food/exercise program for you, though. There's a huge mental aspect here, and you need to like your activities and find healthy foods that you enjoy.
1) Cover your mirrors. Don't even look down at yourself without a shirt. Micromanaging your progress is counterproductive and you don't see results from day to day. Seeing an actual result is so satisfying and you need to space out your body audits for that to happen.
2) Accountability buddy. Not to give you a hard time. Someone you can brag to about daily work and get kudos but won't berate you if you cheat. The purpose is for you to want to do well. It helps to pick someone who is also trying to get healthy so you can support each other.
3) Try to review the things you do in excess, even if they aren't things your brain associates with weight. Diet soda was keeping me bloated and gave me cravings and in its absence I feel better even though it didn't seem like I was doing worse off while drinking it.
4) Force yourself to half-ass an exercise if you're tired or not feeling it. You almost always get warmed up and into the groove and by the end of it you're working hard. And even if not, doing anything is better than doing nothing. Slower progress is still progress.
Try to start out by sticking to these four steps for an extended period of time. Say one month. After that you don't need to be as strict about not looking at yourself or forcing yourself to get up and exercise every day (though it's good if you keep it up!).
But once you look at yourself and see those results, they become a catalyst for you to keep going. You just need to overcome that first hump before your initial results start to show. Momentum is harder to build than to keep.

I really can’t stress #4 enough. I still haven’t internalized this fully but literally today I felt like there was no way I could work out and ended up doing this. You can see on the HR graph how I gradually got into it.

A thing that really annoys me with covid is that nobody discusses a very obvious reason a lot of people are more focused on treatments than on preventatives - people don't like dealing with medical stuff when they feel fine. They want a solution for when they get sick.
How many people will go to the doctor if they have a fever and cough but will procrastinate a routine checkup for months and years because they don't feel sick? How many people schedule an oncology appointment over every random lump? People just don't like medical stuff.
So the thought process is "why deal with medical stuff when I'm doing fine now? The important thing is that if I get sick, there are some medical measures that can help me." Hence the popularity of monoclonal antibodies despite them being just as "experimental" as the vaccines.

They are correlated in the dry economic sense, but praising the economy when consumer prices are rising alarmingly is putting a deliberate spin on things.
It's kinda like saying "this is the most comfortable winter climate we've seen in years!" like that's a good thing.

After all the talk of Netanyahu and Trump being birds of a feather, turns out Bibi treated Trump like he treated everyone else - cut him loose the first chance he had and went off to play with the new POTUS. I love that Trump was like "fuck him" lol. Those two deserve each other.
There's obviously that aspect but I don't think Americans realize Bibi's domestic record. He was in power for years and never even had a hint of a successor. He never trusted anyone and would cut down anyone who looked like the future of Likud.
Trump would obviously feel betrayed anyway. My point was more about how the image of them being thick as thieves was mostly political smoke and mirrors. Trump was good for Israel so Israel was good to Trump.

Just blocked someone over this shit. Not getting a booster isn't a personality and I especially don't care how proud of yourself you are that you aren't getting it. Good for you.
I think I am very fair when it goes the other way. I reserve my arrows for the people who are truly awful about it and not just ones whose personal calculus and risk assessment yields results different from my own.
