A video of Allegra Stratton and ‘party’ surfaces and she quickly resigns.

Massive news coverage

A video of @Jacob_Rees_Mogg appears on Monday at the IEA mocking about parties appears - nothing.

No press coverage at all & he has gone into hiding.

Why is Mogg being protected?
On the very same day as the IEA video came out he did this.

Again - why is Mogg being protected?

Why is there no coverage of @Jacob_Rees_Mogg when you put so much into @AllegraCOP26

There were things @BorisJohnson could have announced tonight - or even 2 weeks ago - that would have made a difference.

He could have introduced vaccination for 5 to 12 year olds.

He could additionally have had schools close a week early.
And used that time for HEPA filtration & ventilation to be put in place in schools.

He could also have reintroduced distancing & street masking - maybe even FFP2 minimum masks.

Instead he chose to announce an impossible target.
It is hard to see this as anything other than a distraction from his own political woes currently - the news media will be full of what he has said & little else.

There is pressure being put on the 1922 to have him step down.

If and when it fails & thousands die? - "He tried"

This is a pandemic - we need to do that EVERYWHERE

If we fail to do so?

The next variant will come - and the next.

You cannot deal with a pan global infection with only a narrow national mindset.

Nor can you pretend boosters are fine when our children have NO vaccine protection.
Don't be fooled into thinking there is no resulting increase in hospitalisations either.

South Africa is seeing an increase at a rate greater than previously.

Oh - the fine on the Tory party for donations for the Downing Street flat refurbishment?

That puts the potential that Katherine Stone might investigate and refer the PM to the Parliamentary Standards committee.
The PM Whatsapped the donor for further money.

Despite claiming he had no idea who the donor was.

This is dynamite.

So many questions.

@nadhimzahawi says no outside catering was used for the DfE party - so what about all the other parties?

If outside catering was used for other events, an audit trail exists.

Also - fairly sure any food to Downing street would have to be checked.

And the PM DID commit to handing ALL material to the Met for ALL parties in the HoC.

Also says Simon Case will be looking at this - but yesterday Downing Street indicated that he would only be looking at the party the PM was not at.

Further clarification of what Case will be investigating - and whether he was in attendance at ANY of the parties - is needed.

So far this morning:

It is now reported there were 7 parties,

Johnson's actions to save his own skin wiped 0.5% from GDP.

The Telegraph apparently has the names of people attending a party hosted by Carrie Johnson, but won't release them.
"Plan B" work from home but go to Christmas Parties (?)

Party at CCHQ where the party "disciplined" attendees (sorry, what? - whilst others got £10k fines?)

UK could be looking at 1 million omicron infections by the 12th day of Christmas.

Wonder where we will be by 9.00am
I had to ask.

The Conservative Party have been fined £17,500 for illegal donations with regard to the Downing Street Flat.

Boris & Carrie announce a Barbie is born.

Parliament may go into recess 2 days earlier to avoid PMQ's & get the plotters out of SW1

A short thread - as it appears there is a whole load of detritus of the Tory party now.

First, the video of Stratton joking about the party days after it took place.
Followed by the possibility that the get out of jail free card would be that it is "Crown Property" and the rules - of course - don't apply

But then - shock and horror - ANOTHER party.

This time at the DfE under @GavinWilliamson
