The doorway of a classical Nagara style temple is probably the highest expression of art achieved in Bharat. Each and every element of the doorway including the threshold is intricately decorated. The doorway is comprised of numerous elements. Lets have a look at each element (1)
This part of the doorway is called the Lalatabimba. A miniature form of the deity present inside the Garbagriha is depicted here. (2)
On top of the Lalatabimba is an element what is known as Uttaranga. It is where usually Brahma, Vishnu, Maheshwara & sometimes even Skanda along with their respective devis are depicted. (3)
Then comes Dwara Shakas. These are offsets surrounding the doorjamb . They are usually 1,3,5 or 7 in number. There are various types of Shakas depending on what is depicted. If it depicts lions, its called Simha shaka. Likewise there are Gandharva,Mituna & Patra(floral) shaka (4)
Then we have the Dwarapalas guarding the Garbagriha on either side of the doorway. It could be Jaya - Vijaya, Ganga-Yamuna depending on the principal deity inside the Garbagriha. (5)
This element is called the Mandaraka. The name comes from the Mandara mountain which was used during the Samudra manthan to obtain Amrutha. Sometimes the event is depicted here. (6)
Below the Mandaraka is the Udumbara, which is the lowest element among all. It is the threshold. It is unfortunately not visible in the original photo as it is buried beneath the mud. This is qn equivalent example from the Suryanarayana temple at Osian. (7)
An excellent example of Mithuna Shaka from Ashapuri Temple. Nagara architecture reached its peak crescendo in Madhya Pradesh area. The development of architecture came to an abrupt end following the invasions. Sadly we'll never know to what newer heights it would have reached.
Vishvanatha temple, Khajuraho. Under the patronage of the Chandelas of Jejakabhukti, Nagara architecture reached its very peak. Especially the gateway elements leading up to the Garbagriha. Just have a look at each element. So intricate, aesthetic, classy & so graceful.

There is not one good reason for a Hindu man to be consuming alcohol. Not one. I can write a lengthy thread on how it is condemned in the Shastras, on how in ancient & medieval times the society had a very low opinion on the ones consuming it.
So when one sees men here proudly sharing their drinks stack or whatever they call it, one cannot help but not think highly of such behaviour.
Usual justification given by alcoholics is "In Rigveda people consumed Soma"

But what they will not tell you is that Soma & Sura are two entirely different things. Rigveda itself make out a distinction between the two

Sura is condemned by all major Dharmashastras.

Indian men in the 1930's. One of them in the picture(striking the front double bicep pose) is Bishnu Charan Ghosh. He was brother of Paramahamsa Yogananda. He was a practitioner of Hatayoga. In 1930 he authored a book called Muscle control where he details various exercises.
Simple instructions given in the book which are applicable even today.

1)Avoid over exertion
2)Perform the exercise in correct form.
3)Good ventilation & breathing techniques
4)Healthy eating.
5)Proper sleep of atleast 7 hours.
Most pertinent point of all. He tells us alcohol is NERVE POISON & to avoid it.

Note that anabolic steroids were not developed until 1935. All these Indian men built strength & muscle naturally. With a combination of Hatayoga & weight training.

Tamilians know how to honour their military heros. An example from history. When Hoysala king Ballala deva was forced to leave his capital Dwarasamudra in Karnataka following the sultanate invasion in the 1300's, he made Tiruvannamalai in TN his capital. (1)

#VeeraVannakam
Ballala Deva fortified Tiruvannamalai & would use it as a base for many years to fight invaders. Even though he was a Kannadiga, he is revered by Tamils even today as "Veera" Vallala. So much that one of the Gopurams at Tiruvannamalai Temple is named after him. #VeerVanakkam
Veera Ballala sacrificed a lot for his people. You can read about this great king here.

Sharing a few excerpts from Sitaram Goel's book, Francis Xavier : The man & his mission.

"Xavier lived up to this tradition of the Church on the Coromandel Coast. He discovered that, though baptised in 1534, the Parava fisherman could hardly be called...
..Christians in practice. Some of the still made their living by making images of Hindu deities. All of them were worshipping these “evil  spirits”. According to the History ofChristianity in India published by the United Theological Seminary,  Bangalore, in  1982...
..When the boys informed him that
someone had made an idol, he went with them and had it broken
into a thousand pieces. In spite of all his advice someone persisted in
making idols, he would have them punished by the patangatis
(heads of Parava villages)...

Haven't stepped foot into a public gym since the pandemic began. Brought home some basic equipment to workout last may. Since then started tracking out every single workout. After a year & a half, feel am much stronger than ever before. Tracking exercises is as imp as calories.
Key to getting stronger is a concept known as progressive overload. Graph shows my progression on the bench press since last may.Had pressed 100 kgs in the gym before the pandemic. The lockdowns resulted in a little loss of strength. 2nd dose vaccine screwed my strength completely
Today is a landmark day of sorts because i could press 100 for a rep for the first time since feb 2020. To lift more one simply needs to eat more (not junk though) eating on a calorific surplus of around 250-300 calories since aug resulted in strength coming back.

Finally the admission that the Panchayatana temples of the Vishwanath temple complex were indeed demolished. The way some of these people were brazening it out for weeks, it would have put even Marxist distorians to shame.
The aerial shots were clear as daylight, yet so many tried to brazen this out. No conscience left in these people or what? If this is the fate of premier temples within the main complex, shudder to think what would have happened to all those smaller shrines elsewhere.
What was the need for demolishing functional Temples whose antiquity is as old as Vishwanatha?Did they show any signs of structural weakness to be pulled down?Especially when you consider the fact that the white abomination built by barbarian aurangzeb still stands tall next door
