6 sixes of 6 balls.

The 2011 World Cup Man of the Series.

And a comeback from cancer.

This is the crazy story of the Prince of Cricket πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡
Yuvraj Singh was born on 12th December 1981 in Chandigarh.

As a kid, he was very interested in roller skating and even won the U-14 National Skating championship.

But that victory in skating is the reason his journey in cricket really started...
When Yuvi won the medal, his father, surprisingly, decided to throw it!

He told his son:

"I understand you can’t study but if you love sports so much at least take one that can get you somewhere…focus on cricket."

And just like that, Yuvi's life - as we know it - changed.
From a very young age, Yuvi was sent to Mumbai to practice at the Elf-Vengasarkar Cricket Academy.

Accompanied often by his father, Yuvi went through the most intense training.

While the results today are profound, the start was anything but easy.
Yuvi was rejected from the U-14 team in Haryana.

After years of perseverance, he finally made a debut in first-class cricket - but got out for a duck opening the innings.

His first breakthrough, however, came when he played against the U-19 Bihar team led by @msdhoni.
It was the final game.

Bihar scored a stunning 357 in the first innings, with an 84 from MS Dhoni.

But that score was not even enough for Yuvi alone.

In that game, Yuvraj Singh scored 358 runs himself - one more than the entire Bihar team!
It was all uphill from there, at least for a while:

1/ In Feb 1999, Yuvi represented India in a series against Sri Lanka U-19s

Highlight: 89 of 55 balls in the 3rd ODI

2/ In 2000, U-19 Cricket WC he was named Man of the Series and was called up to the Indian national squad.
To say the least, Yuvi's international cricketing journey was plagued with inconsistency.

In 2000 in a match against Australia, he scored 84 of 80 and won Man of the match.

But shortly after, he was dropped from the ODI team due to his average of 11 over 5 innings.
Yuvi's trend of highs and lows continued.

But there are 3 Yuvraj Singh moments you can never forget πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡
1/ On September 19th, 2007 Yuvi made history. And he did it twice.

Following an argument with Andrew Flintoff, Yuvi took out his anger on Stuart Broad.

He smacked Broad for 6 sixes in 6 balls.

With that, he holds the record for 6 sixes in an over and the fastest 50 in T20Is.
2/ The 2011 ICC WC was the dream run for Yuvraj Singh.

He became the first all-rounder to score 300+ and take 15 wickets in a single WC

Against Ireland, he became the first all-rounder to make 50+ and take 5 wickets in a WC game.

He was even made the Player of the Tournament.
3/ In September 2012 @YUVSTRONG12 made history once again.

But it wasn't a broken record - it was a comeback we will never forget.

On September 11th, 2012 Yuvraj Singh played his first game after his fight with cancer.
In 2011, he suffered from respiratory difficulties.

And in May, he even withdrew from the ODI series against West Indies due to an illness.

Shortly after, the news came in: Yuvraj Singh has been diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in his left lung.
He went through his treatment abroad, only to return to India in March of 2012.

For any normal person, with so many accomplishments in their pocket, they would happily retire.

But Yuvraj Singh is built different.

His love for the game was still alive.
Scoring 34 of 26 in his first game after coming back, India knew he still had some left in him.

In the 2012 ICC World Twenty20, he was the highest wicket-taker for India.

While his performance was disappointing in ODIs & Tests, he showed some hope with the bat in T20s.
After a long, tumultuous, but successful journey, Yuvraj Singh announced his retirement on 10th June 2019.

Yuvi said it was time for him to "move on."

And as of today, he spends his time on his NGO YouWeCan which is focused on helping cancer patients.
Takeaways from Yuvi and his journey:

1/ It's fine if you get angry but learning to channel that passion is what really matters.

2/ Everyone faces obstacles but it's your comebacks that people remember.

3/ Sometimes it's a good idea to listen to your father too!

I'm a student at college.
Here's my daily routine 🧡

7 am: I shut my alarm and get out of bed. My roommate looks pissed but I say sorry, the grind never stops.

8 am: I text my fam "Wish me luck for my exam!" My dad responds by asking me about my major.
9 am: I start watching lecture videos at 2X speed. Goes over my head so just watch YouTube & Khan Academy instead.

10 am: I finish two sessions of the Pomodoro technique. You know the classic work for 10 & chill for 50. Now, it's exam time...
11 am: I finish the exam and discussed it with my friends. Left that room more confused than I was going in.

12 pm: I sit down for lunch and have a long meal. Keep thinking about what's worse - my performance or the food?

At 50, an investment banker drops a successful career to pursue her promise.

The crazy part?

Today she is India's wealthiest self-made, female billionaire.

The stunning story of Falguni Nayar and her company's $13 Bn valuation πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡
Falguni Nayar has business in her blood.

When she was born in 1963, her parents ran a small bearings company.

The house was filled with conversation about the stock market and investing.

Plus, she is Gujarati - and we Gujaratis are known for our business acumen.
Building off that, Falguni pursued an education in business and commerce.

With some managerial experience after college, she even landed a job at Kotak Mahindra Capital Co.
