No SAT or ACT required at Harvard through 2026! Seems like a watershed, transition from a system that combines meritocracy and politics to one completely political. Hopeful this pushes the competent away from education and toward the market. Exciting. washingtonpost.com/education/2021…
“Their applications will be considered on the basis of what they have presented, and they are encouraged to send whatever materials they believe would convey their accomplishments in secondary school and their promise for the future.” Send whatever you feel like, what a system!
“More than 90 percent of schools on U.S. News & World Report lists of top 100 liberal arts colleges and top 100 universities nationwide are not requiring scores for admission this year.”
“Both exams last about three hours. Generations of students have dreaded them. Now, in a test-optional world, many are feeling more empowered.” LMAO
Cornell: “Well-trained readers are able to discern a lot about students’ academic readiness without the extra validation of the test.” I’m sure they’re familiar with grading practices in every subject in every high school in the country. It’s fake expertise all the way down.
I've noticed people saying "Harvard will always be Harvard" come more out of academia, and those with think disruption is possible come more from tech and the private sector. It's true that fields like education and gov are static, but there is a dynamic world out there.

A good piece of evidence that neither China nor Russia is aggressive is that they live right next to each other but get along. Why? Because they mind their own business and aren't seeking permanent revolution abroad, hence tension with the US. reuters.com/world/china/ru…
Great powers not interfering in one another's affairs is historically how you get peace. Russian and Chinese concerns abroad are limited and based on specific historical grievances. The US sees itself as the moral arbiter of everything in the world, so unusually aggressive.
People can only say this stuff with a straight face if they know little about American foreign policy and the death and destruction it causes. Even put aside the wars, go Google "humanitarian effects of US sanctions."

“Hopefully sometime before China takes Taiwan, Putin takes Ukraine, and Iran develops the Bomb, the United States will reject Acceptance of her eclipse and embrace her own supreme recovery of moral health and martial vigour.” Lol, what is this drivel? quillette.com/2021/12/04/the…
“Discover your martial vigor and make sure Taiwan remains the beachhead of feminism and LGBT in Asia. What kind of a man are you?”
Stop “naval-gazing” about things like the history of your country and what your children are taught in school. Taiwan has a woman president! Protect the Middle East monarchies! Fighting for these things is your path to greatness

Groundbreaking work. AI predicted higher crime rates in black, Hispanic and poorer areas. How intelligent could an AI system be if it thinks like that?
“And so PredPol continues to make crime predictions that are incredibly unevenly distributed by race.” Lol, these people belong in padded cells.
I can’t stop laughing at this.

At least France knows the source of its problems, which is more than can be said for Americans. It had a chance. nytimes.com/2021/11/28/wor…
French “gender non-conforming” student on backlash to new pronoun: “This for me was very violent.” They even speak the language of the colonizer!
“Everyone still calls me ‘he,’ which is pretty disappointing for political science students.” Not political science students!

The hubris of modern bureaucrats would put any monarch to shame.
“What happened on January 6, Senator?” Just an unbiased public servant only concerned with saving lives.
Funny how nobody on the right noticed Trump could’ve fired this guy. Leftists would’ve noticed.

This has erupted into an important story on conservative, neo-con and Russiagate Twitter, as they've found common cause. Story is fake news from African papers. Nat sec propaganda moved on from Middle East to China, there's too much there to even shoot it all down.
Don't blame people for getting caught up in this, most can't investigate everything. So you should start with prior that the same people who were lying about Russiagate and GWOTr are lying about China, and propagandizing to make everyone "independently" arrive at same conclusions
I don't do a thorough independent fact check for every tweet. At least, if I see a story from an unfamiliar news source, I will do 5 secs of googling before sharing. Check out how many people don't meet that standard, blue checks across political spectrum.
