A personal thread 🧵
My 1st car was a 2001 mustang that my grandpa gave me.

My 2nd car was a 2002 Lexus that my aunt gave me.

Got lucky that I had such generous relatives since my parents couldn’t afford to get me anything.

About 2 months ago I bought my first car, which as a big milestone for me.
Aside from getting myself a car, when I was younger I always dreamed of having a jacuzzi and pizza oven.

Whenever I went to friends houses, I always thought those were the two coolest things.

Got a jacuzzi a few months back and just bought a pizza oven today.

Never thought I’d
make this happen and just like that I did.

I challenge you to dream bigger and take actionable steps every day to achieve your goals.

I hope to be an example that it’s possible and always try my best to share as much as I can so you can make it happen too.

Enjoy your weekend!
Taking a quick moment to reflect on how far I’ve come and going to be planning out 2022 this weekend.

Stoked to crush it with you all!

Our goal for our agency has always been to hit $10m+ in revenue for 2022.

I think we could've done it this year but we didn't.

We fell short of it.

Here's the biggest problem we faced and one of the biggest problems agencies face in general.

// THREAD //
Here's some quick background:

We have 4 departments at our agency (email, SMS, paid social, & content creation).

We're a fully remote team w/about 90 team members & about 150 clients.

I co-run our retention team (email + SMS) that has around 60 employees & serves 100+ clients.
The biggest problem we faced & one that most agencies face revolves around a few related things:

Supply and demand and how that ties in with forecasting and hiring.

Supply = People. In an agency business, people are everything.

Demand = How many clients want to work with you?

Here are our 8 biggest BFCM secrets that helped us drive $10's of millions in Email & SMS revenue for our clients this BFCM.

// THREAD //
1. Black Friday VIP "Early Access" IMPACT

Sending the sale early to our VIPs yielded higher than avg CTRs.

See the screenshot below, for one of our clients, it lead to a campaign w/an 18% CTR.

Hyping BF ahead of time was key.

That lead to 592 sales on the 1st non-VIP send. Image
2. The same story as above held true for SMS as well.

See the performance and message below of launching early to VIPs for one of our SMS clients. ImageImage

I've generated over $75 million with email marketing and sent over 1 billion emails in my life.

Here's the 20 biggest mistakes I've made (so you don't have to):
1. Spamming discounts

There are so many more ways to sell that's not your typical discount:

-Product bundles
-BOGO
-Give them credit to your store
-Buy 1, Gift 1
-Giveaways
-Cashback
-VIP Programs
-Vouchers and coupons
-Joint promotions
-Contests
-Referral commissions

Try them
2. Not getting to the point

31 email marketing tips that will teach you to make money in less than 5 minutes

(Bookmark this thread):
1. Create a separate email list and subscribe to epic newsletters.

You get an ever-growing swipe file of subject lines and emails you can consult at anytime.

Bonus: Also works for when you don't want to drop your main email to a bunch of newsletters.
2. People should think "wait what" when they get your email.

Subject lines are a pattern break, not a selling point.

And no I'm not suggesting you leverage clickbait.
