genuinely curious to see if this measure actually has any impact because that little quarter second pause it takes to register this statement could interrupt the brain to finger process long enough to let the thought "do I really need to add to this?" get through for some people
or interrupt that little blast of rage that lets the initial thought be the only thought before hitting send
idk im not really the target bc I generally tweet with intention but a lot of people don't
i still get weirdly surprised by how thoughtlessly ppl spit out words but I guess not everyone is constantly pushing down the rage monster that wants to lash out at everything and everyone so they don't learn to always take a breath after the 1st rxn and check it for veracity
here's my initial thoughts on the ep when I watched last night, still loving everything they did in terms of the mystery of the dragon reborn excited to see what we see on the second watch #wheeloftime
I don't know what to do with myself right now I'm like thrumming with glee I'm just like do we...start the series from the beginning now??
here's the thing about doing third world fantasy and making race just not an issue in universe
you've still got to be mindful of how what you're portraying is influenced by and makes an impact on real world inequalities and prejudices
I think Wheel of Time has done a better job of that than most honestly and it feels like they've learned from a lot of mistakes but it definitely still makes some missteps especially with who darker skinned characters are cast as and their fates
I don't really read what other people have to say when I'm vibing to a show but I did see some comments from people who hate the change that the dragon reborn could be anyone and could be multiple people and I'm reminded of how deeply boring they are every recap that mentions it
genuinely believe the best adaptations play with the source material which is why I'm hype to watch station eleven bc I thought the book was only ok but heard the show changes a lot
