This thread might be the most important thread we have written so far. It can save a lot of new traders that have entered the arena post March 2020 Covid Crash.
So Retweet should be a must. Let's begin.
Last weekend we got an opportunity to meet with a market veteran who has been in the market for 36
years now he has witnessed atleast 3 bull runs and 4 crashes.
This is how the conversation went..It was in Hindi but translating to English.
[MV= Market Veteran C= Chartians]
C: Sir, honoured to talk to you. What are your thoughts on this bull run that we are witnessing?
MV: It's just another cycle that will end with newbie traders giving bad words to the market and getting out.
C: Why So? What is the cycle you are referring to?
MV: Every Bull Run you will find new IPO's launching left right and centre alluring new investors to come in and put their money and mint quick profits, these newbie traders have become habituated to buying things and in the
in the bull market everything you buy just goes up....
Every bull run you will hear these statements "Yeh baar kuch alag hain"." India will grow like anything" But if you just take a pause and look back, hasn't India already grown at an immense pace in the last 20 years. What is different this time?
C: What lead to this Bull Run?
MV: Ease of Technology & Scam 1992 haha 😝. Technology made trading/investing so effortless in the past year that a new Demat account could be opened within minutes. Internet got flooded with Influencers showing how easily money can be made.......
....Lot of training institutes capitalized and made a fortune. Coz hey who doesn't want easy money?. It's a pattern this cycle repeats every 10 years. This new generation will again face losses when correction begins. Every new generation learns from bear market. They think.....
...crash won't come. They have made a lot of money buying the dips they have become habituated to it.
C: How/ When will this Bull run end?
MV: Let's go back to the biggest IPO India had ever seen Reliance Power 2008, everyone from every income category just wanted to buy it...
...What happened next? Reliance power started falling from the listing day itself. Which is the next biggest IPO we are going to see now ?
C: Sir, LIC is going to launch it's IPO.
MV: So... the cycle will continue people will jump to buy it. Liquidity would be sucked out....
Bull runs happen because a lot of new investors come in and pour in a lot of money. IPOs come in and suck this liquidity out. What happens when new money stops coming? We see a correction and History repeats and this new 2020 generation of traders will learn their lesson...
..So don't go on the statements like "India will grow like anything". "This Covid has bought in a new revolution. I have seen this cycle repeat this time it's not going to be any different. Just keep cash handy every good crash/correction is an opportunity to add good companies.
C: Thank you sir, it was a very insightful conversation that we had today. Thanks a lot.
So what we basically can assume now is a good correction is around the corner market sentiments will be kept positive until LIC IPO's launches after that may be Tapa.Tap.Tap.Tap 🔻🔻🔻.
