No worries Congresswoman, no one wants to force vaccinations on you. But if are not vaccinated it is likely you will develop symptomatic Covid, either from delta-omicron, or if you’ve been infected previously, omicron reinfection. You risk hospitalization or longCovid or both
But her message is a chilling one: that defiance of COVID19 vaccines is somehow a noble or heroic act. It is not. Her language and the language of like minded congressional colleagues has contributed to the untimely unnecessary deaths of 150,000 unvaccinated Americans since June
Antiscience aggression as exemplified by this member of the US Congress is now a leading killer of the American 🇺🇸 people. Her comments are both dangerous and unpatriotic
I’m willing to discuss my position with the Congresswoman at her convenience

Many thanks @EricaRHill@JohnBerman for hosting me @NewDay this morning. I voiced several concerns regarding our new omicron wave that will soon be upon us. Among them…
1. Having our healthcare workforce at home with symptomatic covid, based on UK studies released last week showing booster protection wanes quickly vs omicron from 70-75% to 30-40% after a couple of months. I’ve made recommendations to fix this now @latimeslatimes.com/opinion/story/…
2. Lack of Rx options. At least one of our mabs not effective vs omicron due to SGTF mutations and as @EricTopol points out in his new opinion piece we don’t have paxlovid in quantity theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
Many thanks @AlexWitt for hosting me as I go through our 3 elements of our latest wave: 1) delta, 2) omicron, 3) omicron among HCWs. Let’s breakdown each…
First delta, we were expecting that wave anyway and it’s still landing the unvaccinated in the hospital and our ICUs mostly responsible for the 1,300 deaths per day. None of those lives have to be lost
Second, omicron it’s so transmissible likely Ro > delta maybe even approaching measles numbers. That feature will make omicron highly disruptive. Historically waves last a couple of months so we should anticipate 2 months more/less disruptions to NFL NBA Bowl games workforce
Meanwhile our @TexasChildrens recomb protein COVID19 vaccine technology has now been transferred to India 🇮🇳 Indonesia 🇮🇩 Bangladesh 🇧🇩 Botswana 🇧🇼 with no patents, no strings. We also in the co-development at our own expense, no help from US or G7. nytimes.com/2021/12/17/us/…
We’re hoping for some good news before the end of the year for emergency release in the first country, India, where it’s known as Corbevax. We feel it’s as good as any covid vaccine used in North America or Europe but fraction of the cost, fewer side effects
Had we even a fraction of the public assistance that Moderna received we feel the world 🌍 could have been vaccinated by now and maybe have prevented the emergence of omicron
Many thanks @AnaCabrera for hosting me @CNNnewsroom as we face yet another wave due to the omicron variant, unfortunately arriving in time to disrupt the holidays when many of use had hoped we might have more time to prepare. The most important thing you can do…
Is to max out on getting vaccinated particularly booster doses to produce a big increase in virus neutralizing antibodies that will “spillover” (Dr Fauci’s term, which I think works) vs omicron, but even then…
The UK Health Security Agency says 70-75% protection vs omicron in terms of symptomatic illness and maybe even less a few months after the booster. This could be a problem keeping our HCWs in the workforce
