if everyone needs to be in therapy (not saying no one needs it), then that means that every single person simply by virtue of existing requires a institutional + accredited trained merit badge holding experts just to function

thats why. if thats true then that changes everything

in that way its obviously a type of parallel priesthood. i mean its basically confession right, ur just confessing to someone with a degree or special training instead of someone you view as an officer of God

maybe. i dont have an issue with it ostensibly. i did it one time with someone that had no formal degree. to me the main glitch is the same thing i experienced in spiritual guru world which is, ur letting someone poke around in ur brain, basically.

which isnt bad in and of itself but throwing open the hood of your car and letting someone else poke around in there, i mean that analogy is just perfect. who are they, what are they really trying to do, you can get into a strange situation there, altering ur mind w someone else.

my friends wife went to therapy and the therapist told her to break up with him and now they're happily married with a kid

thats interesting. who is the therapist? how can they make that call? they never met the guy. they just heard about him via her. thoughts for the mind.

as long as we’re going into it this is also the other less commonly assessed issue. assessing personal problems necessitates a value system. but you dont know what value system the person youre talking to has, most people assume theyre being “neutral” (not possible)

yeah. i mean im not trying to make anyone feel bad. im sure sometimes its extremely helpful. like i said i did it one time with someone that was just kind of a “spiritual” counselor person my wife knew because she wanted me to and it was cool, i would say it was helpful.
