2/ If the @IHME_UW model is accurate, the US will likely hit at least 2000 COVID deaths/day, & possibly 3000 COVID deaths/day.
Last year, we peaked at ~3500 COVID deaths/day.

4/ I don't focus on absolute numbers from modeling, but rather the trend.
Even if Omicron causes milder disease (a good thing), it's super infectious so we'll see a lot more infections, some of which will be morbid or deadly (a bad thing).
