◆ Anil Agarwal will move ahead in the semi-conductor business with the help of AvanStrate company. It is a Japanese glass substrate manufacturer.

◆ The company was acquired by Vedanta Group from Carlyle Group in December 2017.
◆ Earlier, Vedanta Group had tried to enter the chip industry with South Korean company LG. However, this deal could not be done. -4-

This is the second attempt by Vedanta Group in the semi-conductor business.
◆ AvanStrate in touch with different state governments. 250 to 400 acres of land will be required to set up the factory. -5-

Total investment in semi conductor business will be between 45 thousand to 60 thousand crores.
◆ AvanStrate is in touch with the state governments of Haryana, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. -6-

Discussions are seriously going on with the state governments to set up the factory.
